Hi 80th Rayhopians,

Can you pls put your thoughts on the latest cutoff marks that came out to be 452. Was it expected? Although it has been 3 weeks until the last draw, is it justifiable to have such a high CRS despite that?

What is expected to happen to the people sitting at 435 CRS mark? Many are saying that an added surging competition level of the increasing applicants has been behind this high CRS? What is your call guys?

Lets logically analyse the situation and spread ray of hope to the people who are feeling down after the results of the last draw pls .:)

What I noticed in the US is that the IELTS slots dissapear very very fast. And almost 95% of test takers take General IELTS. It seems more and more people are realizing that the EE system are pretty easy to reach with just a good IELTS score so competition will just be higher and higher I think.

Hello ..
It would have been expected if the no of ITAs would have been fixed... there are couple of factors which has increased the CRS... as u said this draw is after 3 weeks... moreover in the last 2 draws of of Nov under general ITAs only 4750 have received the ITA instead of 6000 to 6500 as usualy they were inviting..in the current draw also only 2750 got ITAs instead of 3300 .. in last 3 draws only 7500 got ITA instead of 9500 to 10000...so the main factor is reduced no of ITAs each draw plus this draw was after 3 weeks..actually there is no significant increase in the pool with higher CRS than before...

This is kind of strange as they have just announced the multi level immigration in November with an increase in the PR quotas and here they are reducing the ITA numbers as well as the duration between successive draws are rising. Indeed, it is now very hard to predict what is going to happen in the last month of the year.

Do you think CIC have already started issuing their 2018 quotas or they are just drawing the last few ITA's of the year? Also, do you think we can expect 2 more draws before the year ends or only one more draw?

Has anyone heard any success stories of securing a job through job bank or other means before arriving in Canada and then got an ITA based on the points gained? Does job bank work or is it an eye wash?

I think CIC may increase the number of ITAs from January 2018 onwards. For example if they issue 90K ITAs in one year then their bi-weekly draws will be on average of 3,750 (FSW 90,000/24). As witnessed this year, that there were instances that the number of draws were more in particular months so there's a high probability that the CRS will come down to low 400s soon.

I strongly believe there should be a draw next week as they are issuing fewer ITAs now so this will not bring CRS much down..should be around 436-438..considering yesterday's draw was after 3 weeks.. after that next draw again will be after 3 weeks in Jan 18 with higher CRS.. I dont think there will be more than 2 draws this month...2018 quotas will begin from Jan 18 and ITA no should increase thereon and CRS will be on reducing trend...

See the folks at IRCC have backlogs as well. It isn't as if invitations issued every 2 weeks are also processed every 2 weeks. Add to that the upcoming holiday season, I'm sure they need their vacations as well.

The quotas do not exist for the ITAs to be issued. The quotas are for the people who land in Canada after the PR. Given that 30 to 40 percent ITAs end up falling through the checks by virtue of being declined, or rejections, so automatically the number of ITAs issued will have to be above the target for the year.

Now, the people who do receive CoPR this past month or even in December will actually contribute to the 2018 target of landed PRs.

So I think we don't need to spend time worrying about targets and quotas and just be a bit realistic about the time of the year and remember that the folks at IRCC are deserving of their winter break and slow downs as well. Just like the rest of the world.

If I recall correctly, there was news after the Oct draws that mentioned that the CIC hopes to keep the scores around 438. I'm hoping that's not realistic since this was released before the 1 million target for next 3 years.

you are right mate, they indeed deserve a good holiday. Its just that they are taking our dreams and desperation to get ITA in their luggage while travelling for the long weekends :(

I hope they will be back soon after the new year break and start sending out big chunk of ITa's with much faster application processing time.

This long wait is surely gonna make our life tougher......

I get it. Sailing the same waters. Take it as a time to take a break from the anxiety. Honestly our dreams will still exist in the new year. It's tough pickings but we need to do our bit to stay ahead of the stress of this.

I am scared to death to be honest but what else can we do except hang in there and hope? And if we are going to hope, let's make it a pleasant journey where we are supportive and kind and understanding just as what we've heard the people in Canada are and embrace what comes while we are at it, no?

Actually CIC cannot control CRS.. Only way they can do it is by limiting the invitations.. by doing so they will not be meeting the targets as per their announced policy..
