I am claiming 411 points including my articleship experience coz without that my score is falling to 399 which is absolutely agonizing. Wanted some advice that whether the same would be risky or not as NOC 1111 clearly states that articling students shall be included under this unit. My visa consultant is also confused about this thing. Inputs shall be appreciated. Thanks.

if your NOC is 1111 and your reference letter matches quite well with duties and responsibilities listed by CIC under the NOC & if it states that articling students shall be included, then why there's confusion...CIC clearly states unpaid jobs / internships / volunteer work / work done as part requirement of the course etc won't be considered as work experience and if for one NOC they state it will be considered it is because they want to clear confusion regarding it.It means you are okay to put it under work experience.
If you want, you can write a letter of explanation as well stating that your articleship experience has been entered based on the CIC statement with regards to the NOC,and you can quote what is there in the CIC site.
Worst case scenario,if the Visa Officer isn't satisfied,he will reduce the points awarded towards that experience and decline your application if ur qualifying draws cut off was above 399...but you'll still be back in the pool...may be u wipl have to create a new profile.

Thanks for the elaborate reply but just to highlight that articleship is a mandatory requirement in order to complete CA course.

well... my evaluation report is already completed a month back but i feel they have done mistake in mentioning the 'year' of graduation. Actually I graduated in 2009 (after the completion of compulsory internship) which is also mentioned in my degree certificate but in WES report the 'year' is mentioned to be 2008. I fear that this discrepancy might become reason for my CIC application to be rejected. That is why I emailed WES regarding this 6 days back but no response till now except automated acknowledgment email.
Same here.. Masters in 2010, but written as 2009 ..

For 1111 CA Candidates you need to get training reviewed and approved by the CA Institute. This training agreement will be considered as a valid work experience if you were paid for it. You will be required to produce Training Agreement, Pay Stubs, Reference Letters, Job Responsibilities Letter and other supporting documents.

In Past candidates have successfully claimed points for these training and some I know have got PR based on these experiences only.

I hope this will help.

I think I would cry if this was the case... I didn't know I needed to get an ECA on my wifes Secondary Education certificate so I"m at 409.. with it I'd be at 411
if you have 409 , you will get ITA in next draws. I am at 405 . ( due to i got older last month , lost 5 points due to age ). Be wise , we cannot expect the CRS to fall as the gap between the draws have widen , As this is a ray of hope thread , so that's why I said 410 with 4500 ITAs
