No you don't need a gift deed. But he will need his statement to show the money came from him. You are just consolidating into a single account.

My POF didn't arrive in time. But my house is now sold and more than enough will soon just be sitting in an account so the next time it opens I'm right in there :)

So my POF which were being gifted due to my house sale not being complete in time didn't make it in time and I've had to withdraw my OINP gutted

It's above the requirement, you are fine. Doesn't hurt to add more but as long as it's above what is required you are all good

My POF became a problem. My wife has amazingly managed to organise it in time and will be submitting on Saturday, a solid 24 hours before the deadline.
