i am guessing they have cic agents secretly (or openly) reading this forum to see how to better improve things.
i remember someone posted before and hoping that cic would post a snapshot of the distribution in the pool so that people will have a better idea of their chances to make their plans and also continue in with their hopes in this journey. due to the previous high cut offs last year, they might have lost some very potential economic immigrant prospects to AU/NZ.
and if somebody is reading this from cic, i have a few humble suggestions for them to consider:
1) EE applicants of canadian spouse/common law partners
- some of these are going through EE instead of spousal sponsorships due to the much quicker processing times for them to move and settle over. these applicants should receive additional points (to prioritize their application first) and should also be reserved as part of the quota for family/spousal instead.
2) EE applicants in committed long distance relationships with canadians
- in today's day and age, people travel all around the world and meet, fall in love. however, cross nationality/race relationships are hard to maintain and even harder when there is no light at the end of the tunnel to be able to be given the chance to live and ultimately settle down together. it is a big step to decide to get married based on LDRs (not to mention high risk of separating too) and without proper visas/employment passes, it is very hard to get employed in a foreign country (to live together etc to fulfill common law). while love is a wonderful feeling, we all also need to be practical that we still need to hold a job and bring food to the table for ourselves. cic can consider giving additional points for these people to help them (and the canadian).
not only do these groups of economic immigrants help to boost the economy, they bring love and affection to the existing lonely canadians (who didnt have luck finding love locally) and would also end up having kids and bringing up the birth rate to support the aging population. these people also have a 99% success rate since their other half are already citizens.
your partner should be closer or as close as your siblings right? and if you get more points for siblings it will be easier for you to settle, then having a partner is a much bigger factor!
