Its real. Listening 8 and all other 7 will make a huge difference, near about 50-60 points. That is how the system is designed.snowflake78 said:Folks,
Need some input here. I recently took IELTS and my scores are as below: L 7.5, R7.5, W 9.0 and S: 8.5. Overall band is 8.5. When I plug these scores in the CRS tool, I get the score of 370. However, when I increase the score of listening to 8.0 (from 7.5) then CRS score jumps by 50 points to 420! Is this for real or some bug in the system? How can a 0.5 increase could cause such a huge difference? Is this something others experienced here before? Appreciate any advice/inputs.
With 8.0 in Listening, you would have got CLB 9 and additional 40-50 points.snowflake78 said:Folks,

Your reference letters are only for the jobs you are claiming points for. Just make sure is has all the details IRCC requires.hamiltondreamer said:Please I have a question on reference letter. The job I am basing my application on was between 2007-2012. I have no problems getting a letter. My new job on the other hand is a government job and I rather not ask. So my question is do I need a reference letter from my current employer or just for the one I am claiming points for?
Also a follow up question: When an applicant fills part of it's job experience as self employed, what kind of reference letter do you need or will the person just submit company registration and all. Thank you for your anticipated feedback.
How hard is it to crack 8.0 on listening? That 0.5 is between me and the ITA. Appreciate any suggestions. I took the first test without much practice. I need to improve my "game day" performance.eeprofilehelp said:Its real. Listening 8 and all other 7 will make a huge difference, near about 50-60 points. That is how the system is designed.

General Test has different band scoring for Reading and Listening. Its Reading and Writing is relatively easier than Academic Test.Vaibhav.goel85 said:Do academic reading have different passage as compared to GT.
How is difficulty level in GT as compared to academic reading.
I am asking this because band score is different based on correct answers in Cam 1-11 I am scoring 7 band with 32 correct answers.
Thanks. I am practicing Cam and was getting demoralized by getting 32-33 correct but still was getting band 7.Maverick28 said:General Test has different band scoring for Reading and Listening. Its Reading and Writing is relatively easier than Academic Test.
