Guys, this discussion is VERY VERY informative. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

I am in the same situation, and would really appreciate if someone could kindly help clear my 'complicated-work-history.'

So, I am a General Physician (NOC Code 3112) FSW category. All experiences and education out of Canada.

Graduated in 2012.
Internship/ House Job (Full time/ Paid 12 months work experience AFTER receiving degree) 2013
Hospital A - March 20th to June 6th 2014. (Would it be taken as 4 months, as I read somewhere on this forum that only months are counted?)
Hospital B - June 9th to Sep 7th 2014.
Hospital C - Jan 1st to July 3rd 2015.
Private Clinic - March 1st to July 15th 2016
Hospital D - Dec 1st till date.

So 1 full year + 19 months and counting = 2 years and counting for EE profile.

I am at 450 right now, having entered 2 years as work experience. I will jump at 475 in May 2017 before I can claim points for 3 years work experience.

My questions are:

1 - How would I prove private clinic experience, considering I was the one managing and running it with one staff? Would a letter on clinic's letterhead suffice?

2 - Is it a good idea to claim points for 3 years work experience by updating my EE profile in February 2017>receive ITA>and submit application only after completing full 3 years?

Thanking in sheer anticipation.

Unfortunately you only have 1 year work experience from 2013 internship (if this was paid). What you have listed after does not qualify for work experience. International (outside Canada) work experience has to be at least 12 month continous from the same employer paid full time experience or part time experience that in amount of hours is comparable to 1 year full time work experience.
None of your experiences after that does meet criteria (unless you were self employed or employed by one employer, who did assign you to the different work places over the time).
As it looks you can get on 475 only in December 2018 (if of course you will not be older than 29 years).

Also your education diploma has to be assessed as Master or higher or you have to have 2 different University diplomas. Otherwise you will miss another 25 points from transferability.

how can a self employed doctor show work experience? How would he prove private clinic experience, considering he was the one managing and running it with one staff? Would a letter on clinic's letterhead suffice? what other documents are needed? ?

Confirmation by 3rd parties (like insurance companies or professional chambers and such).

that might not be enough. that is something they cannot really recheck.
But you surely must have some kind of licence in order to be a dentist. and most likely also some kind of organisation or chamber affiliation. so I would advice your licence and confirmation from your professional stomatologist organisation or yearly tax payments for you as a dentist.

FBI PCC in 5 days?

Hi guys I just spoke to jk consultancy in Bangalore for finger printing and FBI PCC. They mentioned they have a service in which you get an email from FBI within 5 days. Charge for this is 300 USD.

Do you think that this is possible. They also mentioned that they have done this for lot of people in India and this is valid for Canada Immigration. Any Idea?

Your clinic. It should be registered with local municipal corporation or as in my state with state dental council

If he had it after receiving his diploma he should be OK with that. Funny enough work during studium (if it is paid work) outside Canada does count, while inside Canada does not.
Here is all listed in detail:

Skilled work experience

Your work experience must be:

at least one year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time,
paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count),
in the same job,
within the last 10 years, and
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC).
Full Time

30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Part time

15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
OR
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.

If you cannot show that your work experience meets the description in the NOC, you are not eligible under this program.

So even his shorter assignments might be ok, if they are under same NOC and if within period of 1 year there are no time gaps. Unfortunatelly, the time gaps are there so none of the jobs after can be counted. However paid internship can be.

In india we get our degree after completing compulsory 1 year paid internship. So it doesn't count as work exp. But when doing masters, which is also paid, we do get junior residency exp which may be added to work exp. Its so effing complicated with our field
