Folks, its one world. No one steals anyones job. Otherwise, work in silo. Dont spread the business in the global basis. Example - Americans companies outsourced so many jobs to India, but in the same time, so many American companies sold their products in India. They made good fortune in India. Same is the case with every country. How the economy of the bay area prospering? It is all because of the immigrants, Green card, H1B.

Same is the case in Canada. Immigrant comes to the country. In every dollar they spend, 99 cents is circulated back. Immigrant need school, housing, automobile, travel, food and so on. They will earn and they will spend. That is how the economy grows. We only need a small number of very talented devs and engineers for tech companies, not low-skilled workers.

Always remember economics basic - Demand and supply. We do feel that my high paying job can be snatched by an immigrant with low wages. that is how equilibrium is achieved in the society by competition. Otherwise, everything will skyrocket.

Only partially true. You are writing as if the immigrants are the main force that making the Bay area's and local economies proper. North America isn't the same as the Gulf Countries where the economies are built on the blood and sweat of the South Asian people who are working like slaves.

It's always better to utilize the local and native workforce before letting new immigrants in, as it takes time for the immigrants to integrate to the Canadian's lifestyle. In some cases, some immigrants don't even want to integrate and learn the language, they just want to live in their "ghettos", like Chinatown or Brampton.

Wow this thread is getting deep here. Talking about the superficiality of "nationalities" and one world economy and such. Speaking of...I agree with my signature. ;D ;D

Yes, it is. And I don't like those "ghettos" you speak of. The idea of it, not that I hold anything against people. But that has always happened and I do not see it going away. I really wish it did but..

I am not talking abt anyone getting trumped or humped. Lol. Quoting someone's statement doesn't always mean you are criticising it. I just made my point about immigrants in general.

Nonono, not you haha

Was just surprised on the 'One World' comment because that seems to be in response to my 'stealing jobs' comment, which was a joke at the first place.

Because instead of forcing new immigrants to integrate into the local culture, like raising the requirement for English test, they lower them down, because of PC and maybe "Sunny way"?

Dumb down the English requirements only make newcomers more vulnerable to exploitations as they cannot read and understand the law -> they cannot protect themselves. It's super frustrated for me when I take a bus in Vancouver, and the main speaking language in the whole bus is Mandarin.

Who is thinking there will be a draw tomorrow?

Anyways, I would like to draw our attention back to Batman's question earlier.

I want to think there is a draw tomorrow...what do y'all think? ;) ;)

Now I am more looking forward to the Year End report. If we have a general idea of the pool, it will be much easier to guesstimate the cut off score.

I know I wouldn't be picked in the next draw for sure.
But yes, more data for guesstimate would be nice...at least a general idea.

BTW, my language test expires Feb 28 2017, If not picked by early January I will need to re-take.
This reason is probably stupid; I currently have braces on, really worried it will lower my Speaking score...I am already a lazy speaker lol
