Sitting at 459 and hoping to get an ITA before end of January. Although I'm working on getting BC PNP with my employer...*fingers crossed*

I don't think they were expecting the new system to have been so broken :p

Yup... damn those IT analysts that put it in place! hahahaha

They're in obvious need of more skilled NOC 2171 poeple :P

The next regular draw is going to be almost after a month's interval. If they are going on vacations after that, then I hope they keep the number of ITAs high (~2500) so that they have enough work to do until the following draw. On the contrary, they might invite less (~1500) since it is holidays for them, so most people going on vacations early. ::)

Hi Guys ,

I have one question.

2 days before I have completed 32 years but my points are not decreased in my express entry profile. Ideally now,I should get 85 only for age but it is sill 90 in profile.

I would like to know that whether I have to create new profile or point will automatically decrease after some days in my current profile.

Thanks

Why would they need "Analyst" and "Consultants"?? Should be Network Engineers, SysAdmin and NetAdmin.

It's also pretty stupid that they list NOC 2171 as a class A job. While 2281 is class B.

CIC really messed up December.

Happy belated birthday! Although getting older also means less points...I was in the same dilemma not too long ago.
Your points will automatically decrease.

Disagree... we're not seeing outages... we're seeing application bugs after a not very well tested application update! If there was a network problem then it probably just wouldn't work... The problem is probably buggy new application code, which would probably be due to poor UAT and hence IT analysts and consultans... not network or infrastructure technitians :P

They are struggling with their system, after they made the changes. Once they get hold of it, hopefully everybody's profile will be updated with correct points.

Then more QAs and DevOps? I don't really see what is the exact role of a so-called "IT Analyst" position. Speaking of "IT Consultants", anyone can be a Consultant, even an 18 yo with a CompTIA A+ cert, being an IT Consultant simply mean you are a contractor or doesn't have a fulltime position with a company.

I guess the people who in charge of creating the NOC system doesn't have a single clue about the IT world.

Not just IRCC, the whole IT system of the Canadian government is a mess, mostly because of politics. Ex: Phoenix payroll system.

Non-related question but what NOC code should DevOps be? I work as DevOps and picked 2173

I doubt that people would even know what DevOps is, so just pick the one that has the most similar job duties to yours.

I'd go with software engineer as DevOps is about developing software.. Well it's much more, but when you say you work with DevOps this can mean two things:
- Work with DevOps to develop (and quickly deploy) software - SW Eng
- Work with clients to help then adopt DevOps but streamlining their current IT processes - IT Analyst/Consultant

huh? I thought I said work as DevOps, but ya - seems 2173 is the right fit.
