Once i was worried about the cut off scor, now i am worried about if the draw will take place or not!! never thought this situation will arise so suddenly.
Lol, same here. At least, the IRCC social media team have indicated that they are still doing draws. There might be delay in the processing time which is to be expected.

This is by far the most weird times in the entire immigration process. The uncertainty is .waiting time is also escalating and profiles are expiring.not to mention age difficulties while the waiting continues . Stay positive and strong coz these too shall pass

I agree. It has just been a week since I qualified for Express Entry, and this just happened. Makes me wonder if everything will go in vain. Ironically, I was asked by my city (RNIP) to apply for PR through Express Entry because they are 'focusing' on those with lower points in the pool. I was eligible for it and could have received a recommendation letter to apply for PR through RNIP, but who knows how many hoops that I have to jump through to get this process done. Definitely uncertain times, but we are good as long as we stay safe and healthy. This can wait if it means the government can redirect resources to other departments to combat the pandemic. After all, we have to look out for each other and get through this pandemic. Remember, you can't immigrate as a corpse or immigrate to a country full of corpses. I am confident things will change.

I was trying to make a prevision regardless the next draw, maybe you can help out.

Considering the number on the official website, we are short on 3900 candidates from the last numbers posted.

How many applications between 467-1200 do you guys think we have from the last draw? This is the big "X" on the question when the next draw comes.

Again, as already posted here we have a couple of reasons contributing to believe this number should reduce:

1 - WES, CES, IELTS, TEF - delaying or suspending services.
2 - People changing plans due to corona virus.
3 - Funds getting shorter due to corona virus.

Canada hits pause button on immigration during pandemic BY BRIAN LILLEY

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED: MAR 28, 2020

Immigration is on hold in Canada, for the time being, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

A federal government official confirms the immigration program is suspended while travel restrictions remain in place, but some wonder whether we might need to keep the program on pause a little longer.

The Trudeau government had set targets of 341,000 permanent residents in 2020 followed by increases to 351,000 in 2021 and 361,000 in 2022.

“Currently, only Canadian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family are allowed to board flights to Canada or to enter through the Canada-US border,” said Kevin Lemkay, press secretary for Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino.

“Despite the current travel restrictions, IRCC continues to accept and process applications,” Lemkay said.

During the period where travel is restricted the department says that no application in progress will be closed or refused due to a lack of documentation. Those applications will remain open even if normal timelines for submitting biometrics or a medical exam are not met.

The question now is how quickly immigration will resume after travel restrictions are lifted.

Conservative Immigration Critic Peter Kent, himself a naturalized Canadian, supports the government’s current move but wonders if immigration should be kept on pause if unemployment levels rise as high as expected.

In the last two weeks more than one million Canadians have applied for employment insurance and the government expects as many as 4 million people to apply for emergency benefits in coming weeks. A report from the Parliamentary Budget Officer estimates unemployment could hit 15% this year, triple what it was before the crisis.

“We don’t know what we will be able to do to redirect the unemployed coming out of the crisis,” Kent said.

Kent emphasized that he fully supports immigration as an economic benefit for Canada but said we will be dealing with a crippled economy and much higher than normal unemployment for some time after the crisis.

“We need a lot more people but right now, we need to pause,” Kent said.
this is no good for both current and future applications at all.

Stuck at 467 since December with a 1 year PGWP and 7 weeks short from 52 weeks to apply under CEC which would bring my score up to 497.

Damn COVID19 !!!

they said it will continue but they did not clarify whether draws will be all program or CEC & PNP only for a while!!

Fingers crossed for a FSW only draw or at least an all program one.

A federal gov. employee. Lol.
these are all one's speculations / opinions on a news platform.
IRCC repeatedly confirmed via twitter and and officially responded to people's questions on other platforms that Express Entry rounds will still take place.
So let's refrain from spreading rumours.

Its a misleading article. The article itself talks abt the program continuing to process but the headline says different. Anyways, the processing is going to continue as confirmed by IRCC even after this article was published. But actual immigration, i.e ppl crossing borders might be on hold temporarily ...
Well we can know for certain in this coming week.

The problem is we take and assume everything according to our convenience.
My brother in law is a CAN Citizen. His close friend is a BAR council member in Montreal
He was told that taking people or inviting from overseas has had a strict pause
The epidemic is killing thousands over there and no one is really interested to bring in people there
IRCC is very gentle in replying cos they do not wanna flood their twitter inbox if they reveal everything
Plus tooooooo much lay offs out there
The BAR council is a prominent body in shaping or modifying bills passed
A member of the body has said at the moment they primarily provide these immigration benefits only to ppl out there
Now will you say even this is fake?
Do you logically believe inviting people amid massive layoffs
Plus the US Canada's prime trading partner has taken a massive hit economically.
The news article in the TorontoSun journal is damn true
If you still deny, then better be day dreaming buddy
