Hi guys,

I have a question regarding IELTS contribution;
1) My wife is main applicant and her IELTS score is: L:8-R:8-S:8-W:7 (CLB 9) - if she take the exam again and inrease her score to CLB 10 (L:8.5-R:8-S:7.5-W:7.5) - How much extra point we can get?

2) My IELTS score is CLB 7 (L:7.5-R:6.5-S:6.5-W:6) - If i take the exam again and increase my score to CLB 8 (L:7.5-R:6.5-S:6.5-W:6.5) - how much extra point we can get?

3) My wife graduated from high school in Canada. But I guess we cannot claim any point from this. Right?

1) You are already at CLB 10 for R & S; get 1 band higher in L & W and that will fetch you 3 points each, so a total of 6 points

2) Going from CLB 7 to CLB 8 won't fetch you any points; if you hit 8-7-7-7 (i.e. CLB 9) or above in L-R-S-W, then each section will give you 2 points each, so a total jump of 8 points

3) I have no view on this

Dear Ja1904, Thank you very much for your reply.

I am little bit confused. So, each band on IELTS can fall different CLB levels? I mean, my wife can get CLB 10 points from R and S and CLB 9 points from L and W?

It can happen anytime, no timeline as such. Considering French & Tech draw just happened in Jan, expect at least 1 month gap.
Dnt be hopeful with pnp draws , no one knows when it I’ll happen , u can only predict regular draws ,draw from the same province doesn’t happen that often

Hi can anyone let me know what do we do in this scenario:

Suppose you gave ielts and scored CLB9 and after a few months you again gave ielts and scored CLB 8, which one should go in the EE profile now?

You can put in any one of them (obviously one with CLB 9) as long it's less that 2 years old..

Yes, that's right - however the average score is a single number which will correspond to a particular CLB.
Refer this link for better clarity - it's official source and lists down particular CLB level corresponding to specific scores across L-R-S-W.

Thanks so its nothing like you can put only the latest score, Right?

I can re- appear and score less and still keep the previous one(with higher score) in the EE profile right?

If anyone one could please shed some light to me... I started this last Dec. 2018 by doing my 1st IELTS attempt, I didn't know I needed the ECA to enter the pool (silly me). So, I got the ECA in March and entered the pool in April 2018, the thing is I wasn't able to get my IELTS writing at 7.0 to boost my score until December 2019.

The current score at 468 will expire in April 2020, should I just withdraw the profile a day or maybe 2 before expiring or should I renew it now?

EDIT: I completed my French exam (TCF Canada in JUNE 2019), so I got the "Living in French Canada" message around that time. I haven't been received any NOI from Ontario or whatever other PNP.
