Same situation with WP expiring may 2016 but applied for AINP in Feb 2015, just went to my lawyer yesterday and the only option we have got is, my spouse will be joining school in September so that I can work/ my application can stay in process as I will be applying for open WP so that my AINP application stays alive. Even her WP is expiring in May and she have to quit her job as her employer will not give LMO neither my employer will give LMO.So the frustration continues till September and god knows how many more hassles we have to face. Life is looking very terrible at the moment my friend, so you are not the only one all we can do is PRAY, HOPE and move on with some positiveness this is what iam hearing from lot of people nowadays.

Thanks for ur reply ....I am also confused what to do now except to wait for a miracle ...Even work permit renewal processing time is close to 114 days ....So it's all screwed up now....I called them 3 times last week...And they just say that they haven't opened the file yet....

Thanks for reply pnp525 and ray009 . I am new here so i am not sure that i am droping reply on right place or not. But that driver catagory is diffrent from mine. I am under employer driven- international graduate catagory. You have any idea about that?

I am not 100% sure on processing times as it depends from case to case. In my case I have no prior feed back as none of my friends have done this before so ours will be the experiment. But one of my friend's wife applied for wp renewal their case is different: husband have PG wp till 2017, wife's wp expired in sep 2015 but she applied for extension or renewal in july 2015 during this whole time she was on implied and she is still working and still her wp is in process. So I dont have absolute information

Note: If you are a holder of an open work permit (e.g., Post-Graduation Work Permit, Working Holiday, etc.), your spouse or common-law partner, applying for the C41 exemption, will need to attach a copy of your work permit to his or her application for an open work permit. Your spouse or common-law partner will also need to provide information about your employment by attaching supporting documents including:
a letter from your current employer confirming employment or a copy of your employment offer or contract; and
a copy of one of your payslips.

Just called my friend to confirm, and his wife applied for spousal wp.

However, our situation is different because we have to apply for my open wp basing on my spouse's study permit and don't know how will that go. because my wife cannot apply for study permit until april, as her wp expires in may. our lawyer have advised that he will be applying for my wife's SP 1st and also apply for her wp extension and we know that her wp extension will be rejected but the intention is that it will buy her few days/weeks to continue her work on implied status. Because if she can work till july 31st she can be eligible for 2 years of Canadian work experience points. If she stops working in may she is falling 2 months short for the 2 year points. So frustrating as we have 425 in ee and it is not helping.

Hi faizy786 if i were you i would apply my open wp depending on my wifes SP.

Same as above mentioned you will apply your extension by proving she is in school and you are her dependent. hopefully that should buy you some time for ur application to stay alive

to get work permit for you, your wife should have a full-time job. few years ago it was possible to get open work permit based on spouse's post graduation work permit. but now the post graduation work permit holder should have a full time job with NOC B and above. OR you could apply for visitor visa and wait until your wife gets full time job.
