Just my opinion, it maybe because that as per requirements, AWE has the least to scrutinize, but for the other categories, they may have to study the employers at the same time.Am I correct? Maybe the less complex the application the sooner the result will be released? But AINP should have anticipated on this volume and complexity beforehand. They should have imposed contingency plans about this but obviously they didn't! Most of us have our PC already processed. Its time to consider SINP then, they have an updated criteria about skilled category that will take effect on Jan 2nd, maybe we can try to consider it and being in Canada already can be an advantage.

This is out of dismay but we have to act hastily as there are lots of sudden changes about immigration lately.
You are right about studying the employers - but this program is going on for a few years now - so they already know 90% of Alberta employers - that is not a reason to process other applications first.
I cant do SINP coz I live in alberta and work for Alberta employer - SINP is for Saskatchewan people. Its not about the complex applications - I applied for Post graduate - SRS stream - it is one of the simplest - i dont even have the file number yet after a month almost.

Clearly the process is not transparent and applications are based on category rather than first in first out. I have posted a comment on AINP facebook page - but they have not responded to me yet.

Hi Maplelove,

Correct me if I am wrong but you do need a job offer from Saskatchewan employer to apply for SINP?

The average processing time for skilled worker application is 9.6 months under SINP...

Well there is nothing you can do. You can apply for LMO closed work permit through your employer if you like but this will take a few months. You are more likely to get your nomination and then apply for Bridging open work permit.

Btw - you should have your nomination any day now...what category was it?
Hi Guys

Disappointed with the latest news :(

Can someone please advise me the options i have?

1. My PGWP is expiring on 16th Dec and i applied for AINP in last week of October in Employer Driven Stream -International Graduate. Got a file number on 26th Oct
2. I have a permanent full time job in Alberta,Calgary in NOC (B) category.
3. Is there any way i can stay here in Canada and continue working for my employer after my work permit expires on 16th Dec? My employer might not be able to apply for LMO.

Please advise.

Thanks

Hi Astasi,

I still has to clarify this because if an applicant has an existing work permit, processing time is 2.2 months only for skilled.
Maybe its time to look for an employer there ;D just a thought hahaha

OR

have to wait for AINP... sigh* hopefully there will be miracles!

But one thing is sure that AINP has lost much of its shine because of this delay in processing.

I read the SINP link - you need a Sask employer.

Anyways..its sad that some categories of AINP are being processed much slower than others. Does anyone have any idea or guesses on how the processing time increased from 1 month to 6 months and nothing in between?

AINP14DEC - I dont know what to tell you....as far as I know you are in a much better position than most of us since you have a file number and its been more than a month you applied - so you should get it sooner.
You can continue working under implied status - which means you need to apply for renewal of your work permit - you can request your employer for LMO and see how it goes.
There is not much you can do without a nomination.

There is an option of applying without a SASK employer but the processing time is about 11.8 months.

Thanks vermanaman!
I see there is no option except to request my employer for LMO and simultaneously apply for extending work permit. I dont know if it is possible in another 2 working days i have (PGWP expiring on 16th Dec)
Else, i will have to apply for Status Restoration but then i cant work. :(

Wish everyone all the best

Thanks
