I have found most of the people getting NOI from Alberta are inlanders. As an outlander can I keep some hope of NOI, specifically with NOC 6235 (Financial Sales Representative) ?:(
Agree, but when they issue a draw, they also specify criteria for thar draw. If they don’t say anything about job offer or canadian experience, then all candidates will be treated equally, otherwise they will give priority for those who are working in their territory.

I have just made a search and found that they give priority to those who have strong ties to their area. This means that although they issue NOI with very low CRS but it doesn’t mean anyone above this CRS will be able to get NOI.
Below is the offical statements from their website

In addition, the AINP is more likely to select candidates with one or more adaptability factors. The candidate must:

  • Have a valid Alberta job offer and/or work experience; and/or
  • Be a graduate of an Alberta post-secondary institution with a valid Alberta job offer; and/or
  • Have Parent, child, brother and/or sister who is a permanent resident living in Alberta, or a Canadian citizen living in Alberta.

While this is true, it also depends on the ratio of people in pool with ties to Alberta. From what ive seen, usually people without any connection get picked in the middle of the year between April - Sept as they will first prioritize the ones with connection. I really hope there is another way they find to show how interested we are to stay in Alberta.

In spite of me never visiting there, I know most places there (thanks to Google Earth), cost of cars, taxes, cost of houses, all quadrants best suited for living, population, jobs, everything. I love that place & so much wish to stay there but how does one convince Alberta. Sad Story !

I think you can get a maximum of 600 points under section D additional points. So if you get 600 for provincial nomination, then any other points you previously had in that section don’t increase your score above 600. Is that right? Looks like otherwise generally in multiples of 15 points for section D.

How soon did you get the message in Express Entry profile to accept the nomination? Just waiting for ITA now! Possible there’ll be an EE draw on Feb 12th but imagine next will be on Feb 19th.
They took off the 50 points from LMIA/job offer hence the adjustment in the CRS. Yes, waiting for ITA now. They draw every 2 weeks so possible date will be on the 19th.

Not sure an expert but they may not have known you had Canadian education points from an Albertan education institution (ie they = the computer that presumably identifies the names from the Express Entry pool for review by AINP). NOC doesn’t seem to be on any of the lists of disqualified NOCs. Make sure you put in current work and any job offer correctly too ... your current employment under a work permit does not also count as a job offer. Good luck in the next round of NOIs!

Hello future Canadians, any advise, my NOC is 0631 - Restaurant Manager, with no connection in Alberta. CRS is 377, is this NOC in demand with no connections to Canada?

No news. Haven’t heard if anyone with NOI in 2020 have got Nomination as yet. Have you or anyone?

Tried to work out timescale from the list of days from EOI received to Nomination that someone kindly collated for Oct/Nov 2019, NOC demand in Alberta (list by high, moderate high, medium, normal demand ... found link on the forums), and the list of high volume applications under AEES that may take longer to process. My NOC would be medium demand and not high volume. But still comes down to 1-3 weeks, provided extra documents are not needed.

Just need to be patient and see what happens.

NOCs
- 1221: normal demand, high volume - 5, 18, 18 days
- 1241: medium demand, high volume - 5, 5, 4, 54 days (guess last needed to submit extra)
- 1311: medium demand, high volume - 6, 16, 16 days
- 2145: medium demand, not high volume - 21 days (but again I don’t know if delayed because needed to submit extra)
- 3222: medium demand, not high volume - 7 days
- 6231: normal demand, not high volume - 6 days
- 7301: moderate high demand, not high volume - 18 days

It’s not in the list of high demand or moderate high demand:
https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/61843e6c-f254-4c93-81b2-36d8f03e6a31/resource/dd08b160-b1af-4bdd-91f8-647e85084116/download/stef-2018-report.pdf

But it’s not in the list of high volume applications under AEES either:
https://www.alberta.ca/ainp-processing-inventory.aspx#toc-2

But I don’t know how important those are or if there’s a slightly different list of NOCs internal to AINP. People seem to have got through despite these (see my last post above). Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone can honestly answer the various questions about how likely it is to be successful as outland applicant with a particular NOC. You just have to try and hope. Good luck!

Yeah, nothing so far. But I got my file number for Alberta Express on Feb11. I was really surprised when I got my NOI - cook, CRS 363. Didn't see that coming. But I have all my Canadian experience from Alberta and a job offer too. Hopefully, they won't let me hang in the process as they have a lot of cooks applying for AINP.
