Questions regarding TRV approved duration

Hi all,

My wife just got her TRV approved with a duration of 2 years with multiple entries. I assume 2 years is the duration of the visa and not the actual time that she can stay in Canada. Therefore, I have some questions relating to the TRV:

1. In the application, my wife only asked for 3 week stay (as most of the advice here suggesting to use 3 weeks to increase chance of approval). Now if she wants to stay more than 3 weeks (given that she has 2 year validity period), is it possible for her to stay longer than 3 weeks (I am thinking of 2 months)? If so, should she buy a round trip flight ticket with 2 month stay? Or is it better that she buys a refundable ticket with 3 week stay and change the ticket after knowing the stay duration that the immigration officer (at the time of arriving) allows her to stay in Canada?

2. Is it possible for my wife to take an ESL (English as a Second Language) class in Canada?

Thanks

Yes she can stay longer.

No tickets required. Buy tickets according to your plans.

As long as it is under 6 months duration, then yes.
