Question(s) about outland sponsorship of English bf

Really dumb question here, but can anyone tell me for the following requirement:

"Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age
or older must complete their own copy of this form."

Is this referring to adult children of the sponsored individual (my boyfriend doesn't have any kids), or do they mean that everyone in my boyfriend's direct family (ie, sister, brother, parents) have to fill one of these out, even if they aren't going to follow him to Canada?

We didn't send an IMM 5406 (we don't have any kids) and they asked us for this form before they would process our applications.
I would fill out an IMM 5406 for your partner and submit it to be on the safe side.

Hey all!

I'm trying to get my head around possible scenarios and the procedures needed to bring my common-law bf from England to Canada... but oh man, this stuff is so confusing, I'm not finding the CIC website particularly easy when it comes to finding all the procedural details... If anyone knows of a good post or website that sketches out the possible scenarios, I'd be grateful for a link!

What if he comes to Canada and we take the inland application route... Is it the 8 month wait for the step 1 assessment of me, the sponsor, that we have to wait for before he can apply for a temporary work permit? (And if so, is it always 8 months, does anyone know?)
And to do so he will need what?
-a job offer?
-a temporary resident visa? (when would he need to apply for this?)

Am I missing any steps / paperwork needed for this?

If you bring him over and apply inland, the average time to get first stage approval would be around 8 months if everything goes well and after that, he can apply for an open work permit. In order to apply for an open work permit, nothing is required except the first stage approval. In order to sponsor him inland, he would have to stay in Canada for the duration. However, outland is a possibility whether he is with you visiting or not.

As a visitor, whether applying inland or outland, he would have to apply to extend his visitor status before it expires. Visitors get to stay for 6 months unless something else is specified so after 5 months, he needs to apply to extend his stay if he wants to stay longer.
