That is exactly what I did. I submitted all the documents at once. However I am not really sure if it expedited the entire process at all.

According to CIC website :

Medical exams and police certificates

If you applied through the paper-based process, you will be told when to submit these to CIC.

if it is so, I think that we need to wait for their next communication.

I hope it will not take long..

Honestly i dont know
But it seems others got theirs in about three weeks
However as we have plans to travel in May I also attached a letter asking them to process our case faster to get our passports in time

I have the same problem. I have a travel in June, so I give a copy of my flight.
Hopefully everything goes well before then.
