My timeline:
I am applying from Montreal.
10 Feb. 2016 CIC received my application.
25 Mar. 2016 CIC sent me the FN.
Currently waiting for MER.

We received your application for permanent residence on October 6, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 12, 2016.
We started processing your application on February 13, 2016.

As long as I know it might be whether due to incomplete form or a need to update the info
I emailed the form and it was ok

There only is an auto-reply email acknowledging receipt of your email
