Hello my friend, as I know whether or not you apply visa would not effect your PR, and neither you are granted or refused by CIC would also not effect your PR decisin making. About your second question, I never heard you need to inform them, because your visa is issued by CIC and your PR officer would easily access such record if they want to check. I applied PR with my wife still in China, and I also plan to apply visitor visa for her before receiving PR very soon.

Many Thanks Flyer110 and Djolens1... ;)

We started processing your application on January 4, 2016.

I started processing in april but apparently, my case is a little bit ahead. But mine is getting
lagged down i feel like at the end.

I already made a payment before submitting my application hoping it would expedite the entire process. No further updates so far and I check my E-Cas every day :)

Hello Youngkim,
Is Ottawa your visa office? Are you living in Canada?
I am living in Montreal, visa office Ottawa, application received on June 09, 2015, AOR on Sept 01, 2015
Cheers

Hi Luc22,

Was wondering if you tried the OWP with AOR from Quebec? I am in a similar boat.

Thanks,
Sheena

It's vague,, when I first started to think of the Open work permit option and after reading all related info on CIC website, i concluded that it is not for Quebec applicants as Hossam stated.
Then, I tried the eligibility questionnaire , and it gave me the option of OPW,, FYI, there is a question regarding my current status and I put WORKER (not visitor) and still getting the option to apply for an Open work permit...

in case i don't have a job offer and an employer who can wait 2 months for my Work permit , i am going to apply for an Open work permit (once AOR received) and will share the outcome on this thread.. Prior to that, i am going to consult my immigration lawyer and will keep you posted.
On another hand, my current work permit will expire in Oct 2015, can you give me your opinion on the options i have (other than closed work permit and the OPW trial ::)) to avoid leaving Canada until getting PR ..

Hi Sheena
I, actually, checked with CIC 4 months prior to the expiration of my closed WP, for Quebec OPW (bridging WP) after AOR is not approved , it is workable in other provinces .. only a closed WP (with job offer but exempted from LMO because you hold a CSQ) can be the solution.
I applied for TRV extending my stay while waiting for PR to avoid being out of status..

You can still check with CIC things might be changed.
Good luck

hi Parmodchoudhari,

You can submit either Provident fund Statement from PF office or Tax Clearance certificate from Income Tax Department.
