Hi guys, this is my timeline after getting csq:
- Submission on my PR portal: 25July
- AOR and biometric received: 9 October
- Biometric passed: 22 October
- Pre-arrival service letter : 15 November

Any idea on when should I expect to receive medical exam instruction letter?
Are you an inland or outland applicant? The medical will be automatically passed if you are already in Canada and have undergone a medical exam within the last 5 years as part of another application, such as for a study or work permit.

My timeline is similar as you. I applied on July 23rd and waiting for P1 email.

Hi,

My last medical exams were 3 years ago due the work permit, this means I don't need to do them after my biometrics are collected? is there a place where this is written? Not that I don't believe, it's because I remember reading the complete opposite for both biometrics and medical exam (that I'd need to re-do it).

Thanks.

Then how was my medical approved? However, it depends on the officer. They may ask you to redo it. As for biometrics, yes, you have to redo them even if they were valid.

Check the following link for information about the temporary public policy for medicals. IRCC has extended it until October 5th, 2029. You can easily find this information by checking the IRCC website or searching for it on Google.

I am inland applicant, and no I have not passed medical exam before!
I hope they will send me the letter soon since it is almost one month after getting the biometric:(

Hi Guys. I submitted my application in Feb 2024. Within 9 months I only received a Biometric letter and a Pre-arrival letter. I have not been asked for a medical exam yet. Is that normal? (inland applicant)

I have never taken a medical exam. So they should ask me for a medical exam. I submitted my application in Feb 2024, and I was asked for biometrics in July, I received an arrival letter at the beginning of October. and still waiting....

Technically still within estimated processing time. But if you exceed it, apply for GCMS notes. Though if you received PAL then at least your application is moving

Oh, you’re an outland applicant. I thought you applied from within. The next step will be the medical exam. I read on some forums that it usually takes 2–4 months to receive a medical request after the pre-arrival letter for outland applicants. However, if it takes more than 9 months (But IRCC has increased another 2 months for the processing, so it's within the processing time), you could contact IRCC.

I think yes, the confirmation have a number that starts with the letter "E", you need to use this to apply to the BOWP. If this is the case, it's your AOR.

Also, congratulations for the update in your process!
I used that e-mail for my BOWP. I think is just fine.

Indeed. However, they don’t mind because I was in the same situation and applied for an LMIA-exempt work permit before my status expired. I received my AOR even after my work permit had expired. So it’s better to restore your status by applying for an LMIA-exempt work permit.
Hi everyone. I am an inland PR applicant. I want to apply for BOWP. According to the IRCC website, in the last step, I have to select the "Open Work Permit" option, while there is another option "Work Permit (in Canada)". Which one is right? In the case of selecting "Open Work Permit", it doesn't require a completeness letter.

It's clearly said that you need to select 'Open work permit' as the type of work permit in the website.
