Even if they did so, they should at least get AOR out early. Some of us have expiring/ Expired work permits and need it to apply for BOWP.
Indeed. However, they don’t mind because I was in the same situation and applied for an LMIA-exempt work permit before my status expired. I received my AOR even after my work permit had expired. So it’s better to restore your status by applying for an LMIA-exempt work permit.

Any updates on the federal process of the QSW from people applying in August? I applied end of August and have no news yet.
I read somewhere last week that they were dealing with applications sent on 8th_9th August. I applied beginning September, I guess I still have a month and above to receive an AOR. These timelines are crazy

Does anybody here is still waiting for the R10 or AOR? I am worried since I only submitted my PR application on Oct 22th and my work visa is going to expire November 18th.

Is anyone in the same situation? Also, what can I do if my status expires and I am unable to apply for BOWP?

It takes 2-4 months to get AOR in this stream. If your status expires and you cannot extend your work permit, you need to stop working and apply for visitor record.

Do you think if I apply for BOWP without the completeness check would affect my PR application?
There is no way to apply for BOWP without an AOR if you are on a closed work permit. The only option is an LMIA-exempt work permit, but your employer must provide you with a job offer number.

I was in the same situation and applied for an LMIA-exempt work permit about 2–3 weeks before my work permit expired. IRCC will provide a new document with the following details to allow you to work legally.

'
Please attach this letter to your present work permit Number XXXXXXXX as proof that
you are authorized to continue working under the same conditions as your original work permit
until {date} or until a decision is made on your application, whichever is first.
'

Check "Renewing your work permit" section of the following link

I think I will have to do the same thing. Did you get the AOR after or are you still waiting? If you did get it, did you also apply for BOWP?
