sino po pala dito gumamit ng bank draft na naghihintay pa hangga ngayon?.. worried po kasi ako about my chosen mode of payment for the processing fee...
Ako April. Mode of payment is bank draft sa BPI. Sabi naman ng teller na 6 months before mag expire yung BD.aprilwest said:sino po pala dito gumamit ng bank draft na naghihintay pa hangga ngayon?.. worried po kasi ako about my chosen mode of payment for the processing fee...

Receiving bank? yun ba yung Novia Scotia Bank dun sa cheque? Plan ko lang is to wait until October siguro kasi 4-7 mos talaga for AOR. If you want, you can call Quebec if na open na file mo.
If you say that the DD is as good as cash. IMO, there is no way BPI can check if the DD has been encashed since making a draft is like withdrawing cash from the bank. It is like when you paid someone in cash, do you think the bank where you got the money from would know if the person has used the money you paid? I think it is the same principle with DD. I hope I am right on this.aprilwest said:ako din via dhl!

Hello decai, when did you file your application? It usually takes around 4-7 months for the AOR to be issued. In my opinion, if your AOR is indeed already with your agency, they would (or should ) have informed you about it right away (since that's what we paid them to do, after all. meeep :-X).decai said:feel ko rin nasa agency ko yong AOR ko eh.. tsk tsk tsk.. upto now wla pa rin man
Oh, good to know.aprilwest said:yes po, macoconvert po ulit ito ng cash basta ipresent nyo lang ung bank draft na isinoli kung hindi man aabot po sa cap (umabot naman po sana tayo)..
maybe il just have to ask again sa BPI kung possible ba talaga macheck ung encashment since nakapangalan naman sa bank ng nova scotia.sinco said:just to add my input on the ^ conversation... before I requested BPI to issue my DD, I made sure that all bases are covered. here are the things that I know:
- they can check if the DD has been withdrawn. they just have to contact the main office, which in turn contacts their partner bank in canada. so malalaman nila kung nagamit o hindi pa ang DD.
- yes, it's good as cash kasi debited agad ang amount kaya kailangan na may account ka sa knila. but it doesnt mean na good as spent na yun once converted na yung cash to a DD. if in the unfortunate event hndi umabot sa cap or binalik dahil incomplete ang application, you can always return your DD sa bpi and they will credit the amount back in your account (minus some fees lang)
also, best to send your application if with a DD with DHL kasi pinapadeclare nila if may cheque sa loob (at least i was asked when i sent mine dito sa DHL greenhills)
This is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for sharing this! Siguro kailangan ko talagang puntahan yung BPI branch ko at kausapin yung bank manager (nagtanong lang kasi ako tungkol sa bank draft ko through telephone nyak).sinco said:just to add my input on the ^ conversation... before I requested BPI to issue my DD, I made sure that all bases are covered. here are the things that I know:

nagpunta po ako ulit kanina sa dhl, ang sabi po kung idedeclare daw na may bank draft di po daw tatanggapin ng dhl.. kahit po sa customs ibabalik daw po ulit un kaya pinapadeclare na documents lang?..sinco said:just to add my input on the ^ conversation... before I requested BPI to issue my DD, I made sure that all bases are covered. here are the things that I know:
