just to add my input on the ^ conversation... before I requested BPI to issue my DD, I made sure that all bases are covered. here are the things that I know:
- they can check if the DD has been withdrawn. they just have to contact the main office, which in turn contacts their partner bank in canada. so malalaman nila kung nagamit o hindi pa ang DD.
- yes, it's good as cash kasi debited agad ang amount kaya kailangan na may account ka sa knila. but it doesnt mean na good as spent na yun once converted na yung cash to a DD. if in the unfortunate event hndi umabot sa cap or binalik dahil incomplete ang application, you can always return your DD sa bpi and they will credit the amount back in your account (minus some fees lang)
also, best to send your application if with a DD with DHL kasi pinapadeclare nila if may cheque sa loob (at least i was asked when i sent mine dito sa DHL greenhills)
