My husband and I tried Pharmaprix but they said they didn't know what we were talking about with immigration/permanent resident photos. Even went in to have them done before that and they said they couldn't do the sizes specified.
Could WalMart do them? Our local one has a sign saying they do passport photos so maybe they do the immigration sizes as well?

Thanks for any help!

I had mines done at Walmart and had no issues.

I had mine done at Costco's photo centre, but at least up here, they no longer have an on-site photo centre. I got passport photos done recently at Jean Coutu. The PR photos are a different size, but there's an appendix in your guide you can print and take with you to ensure that you get the right size. Anywhere that does passport photos *should* be able to do immigration photos. It's just a question of the experience and competency of the staff at a given location.

I always get mine done at "Le Centre Japonais de la Photo" at Eaton Center if you live in Montreal. They are experts in immigration photos.

I got mine done at Jean Coutu. It cost around $45 for all of them, make sure you bring the specification sheet with you so they know exactly what size the photos need to be. They were not familiar with immigration photos but if you give them the official specification sheet they should be fine.

We had our photos done at Black's.

We also had ours done at Black's. It was very quick and easy. :)

I had at Uniprix but you have to take the specifications with you and show them because they always want to take passport photo dimensions.

Thank you everyone! It doesn't look like there's a Black's near us.
We will try Jean Coutu. We have one right down the road from us!

Bummed Pharmaprix had no idea what we were talking about even when we showed the girl the Photo specification paper.
haha...

Oh! And we will call our nearest Wal-Mart and ask them as well.

Avoid pharmaprix or any place if they don't have a clue. A sign that they don't deal with making PR or Passport photos.

Yep we will be avoiding them. The first time we physically went in to our nearest Pharmaprix with the paper with specifications. She even went to ask her higher up and said they didn't know how to do them.
And then we called to make sure it wasn't just the people who were working that day. But they still didn't know what we were talking about.
(They DO do passport photos though.)

We just called Wal-Mart and they do it! YAY! They said $22 for 2 photos (we need 4 and I want extra so probably about $66)
Or does anyone suggest needing extras is not necessary?
I know that for the PR card later on I'll probably have to take different photos bc these will be more than 6 months old. Is that correct?

Not sure why you need 4 PR photos unless they are for medical exam. But with emedical done now, PR photos for medical is not needed. But for landing, 2 PR photos are all you need. One to attach to COPR and the other sent out to Nova Scotia for PR card.

I thought you only need to submit 2 PR photos with the PR application, not 4.

In our guide it says we need to send 4 photos. Not for the PR card. But for the actual application for permanent residence.
And I want extra just in case they lose them or something.
And for the medical, they take the photos there so I don't have to bring any with me for that.
