No, Actually I just got my File No. Nothing else I heard from them. I am waiting for my CSQ certification. PCC(Police Certificate) and Medical is the last stage process.

Hello Guys !!!!
I hope you all will be doing fine. I am preparing to apply for Quebec Skilled Worker Immigration. But i am a bit confuse about training area classification. My education profile is give below, i want to know either they will consider it for Section A or Section B .

Bachelor degree BS(16 years of education )= Mechanical Engineering + MS (2 years) Automotive Engineering

Also i have one year experience in Composite Materials Processing Techniques, How they will acknowledge this experience. Can i consider this experience or any other experience as area of training ?
Total Education years=18

MS gives 12 points which is the maximum. Any work experience from 6 month to 2 years is counted as 4 points. It doesn't have to be in your field, but must be included in NOC list of qualifications.

Just google "NOC list of occupations for Quebec". It appears on the first page. I tried to paste the link here, but received an error that
i'm not allowed to paste links. Don't know why it happens?

And there's one more thing. To be counted as points for CSQ work experience must meet the full time equivalence requirement. That's very important. For Quebec it's 37.5 hours per week (full-time). I've heard that in some countries for example France 35 hours or less is considered full-time. In the US it's around 40 (8 hrs*5). Although, part-time work can be also recalculated into full-time equivalence. For example when I submitted my application I've added a work certificate where it specified 19 months of work experience with 20 hrs/weekly. So, it roughly means 9-10 months of full-time equivalent.

I'm new to this. I took the online evaluation and it seems I qualify. Here is my profile
- Master in 2011 in the USA in Electrical Engineering, now I'm a phD student in the US.
- French (DELF B2, back in 2009). I'm not sure if it is expired or not as it says DELF is for life-time
- English (IELTS 7.0 in 2009), and I'm sure it's expired.
- I'm working as a Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant at a university in the US. Can it be counted as working experience?
I also want to know if I need to take French test again. and English as I've been in the US for 4 years.
Should I be waiting until I finish my PhD or apply right now? and should I be taking the French test again? If I take the English test again, for Ielts should it be general or academic?

You can apply right now as MS degree gives you 12 points for education which is the maximum. There's no extra points for PhD. Both TA and RA are counted as work experience. However, normally it's considered part-time because the full-time job equivalent in Canada is 37,5 hrs/week. I also have 2 years experience as TA/RA with 20 hrs/week and I got 4 points for that. Experience from 6 months to 2 years is counted as 4 points. Regarding language tests you'll have to take them again since yours are more than 2 years old. There should be absolutely no problem if you already passed them once with good results. I recommend you to take TEFAQ instead of DELF as it's easier and you you'll have your scores in a month. There're only listening and speaking sections unlike in DELF. Also, take general IELTS module. I can tell that it's much easier than academic as I took both modules.

If you did well on a test before then just repeat your previous score. There's no need to prepare. I took academic IELTS seven years ago, then TOEFL and GRE for grad school. This year I had to take general IELTS again for immigration and TEFAQ as well. If you took academic module you don't need to prepare for general at all. Just go and do yours best. For the TA/RA proof in the US you need to submit proof of obtaining SSN and W-2 form (employee's record). That's part C of Tax Return Form. I suggest you to check if your area of training is in the NOC and determine if it's in the priority list ( awards 12 to 16 points). It doesn't make sense to wait for one more year before submitting application because you'll have 1,5 years of full time equivalent work experience and as I wrote before any experience up to 2 years doesn't give additional points. Regarding summer internship it might be counted if that occupation is listed in the NOC. Also, work experience must be paid to be counted.

Thank you so much for your help. I still keep W2 record. I don't worry about IELTS, it's just French that I haven't used for over 4 years. I lost a lot of my fluency, vocabulary and my listening is not as good as it used to be. I think It takes time to get it back (crossed finger).
I also wonder if I could apply for Federal skilled worker (FSW) at the same time? I know it is more competitive there but it seems I could get a lot of points there as they count the degree, not the fields as in QSW and in my case now, I could get 23/25 for master and even 25/25 once I have PhD degree, which is enormously impressive, compared to 6pts I get in section C in QSW. I also think if that works then I could take TEF instead of TEFQ and submit French both for QSW and FSW. Have you thought about this before?
