Hi all;

I just have the TCF online test from home, Is the result obtained can be submitted or I have to take the test in a certified center, and if so Does any body knows how long I have to wait for taking the test (on average) and how long it takes to have the results?

Thanks

Hello Kazekage

wellcome to the thread,Hope u will get your Passport Request very soon.

If possible could u share about your interview experience and what level of french u had at the time of interview.

The interview experience turned out fine. I was really panicking at the beginning but I managed to get through. The entire interview was in French. I've heard that you can ask/request from the interviewer to inject some English conversation if you are a bit uncomfortable about speaking entirely in French. One piece of advice, try showcasing your ability to speak French because that's what they're after during the interview. Btw, my level of French is only in an advanced beginner. I studied at Cactus. Alliance Francaise in Manchester is a bit far from where I live back then. Reinforce your study with audio books and the likes.

The interviewer only asked me about why I have chosen Quebec, about my previous employments and my job responsibilities, where I intend to live, and you might wanna study some of the provinces in Quebec as they might challenge your knowledge about it (he didn't ask me this, fortunately!) Oh and show all your evidences (original) like certificates from your French course, IELTS (if you have renewed your results or have retaken your exam), and the likes. In other words, just bring all your documents which you think would help you in impressing them and don't forget to bring with you all the original documents that you have forwarded to the immigration office in the past. Good Luck! :D

@ Egypt2011,

The email you gave me was wrong, I got a failure notification. Do you know by any chance where are they making tests in summer, July and August ?

Based on my info, IT is not regulated and does not need equivlance. I'm not sure about finding a job, but They do have Oracle and SAP in montreal plus many other companies. I think it should be fine, hopefully. Note that I don't live in quebec so I really not sure about job market there. Shahi is looking for jobs in IT consulting, may be he can tell us more.

@Kammar:

thanks for your info. , me too I tried to contact them through that email yesterday and got the same notification but this is the email on the website.

I'm planning to go for the test in the same time of July or August mainly July because of Ramadan in August so I'll contact them as soon as possible through the telephone and if I got any information I'll tell u.

So, will update u soon and u 2.

btw this is the URL where I got the info.

Hello Friends!!
I am a newbie here! in the process of applying for Quebec immigration under skilled worker category.
This forum is a wonderful source of information with people helping out each other...
Here is a brief about my profile
I have an engineering degree from India followed by an MBA from France...I have worked in France, India for approx 5 years now. Currently I am working in Saudi Arabia. I have more than decent level of French language skills but I have no official certificates (I had taken Test de Francais International in 2004 as a part of my MBA requirement but that score was valid only for 2 years).
I have a couple of queries:
- Is it mandatory to submit application in BIQ covering your current residence location. My problem is I am not sure how long will I stay in Saudi Arabia, thus do not want to risk to apply from here only to know that when my interview comes up I have moved back to India...
- My wife is pregnant with a delivery due in Nov. Is it better to apply after the baby is born or I can apply now and "update" the file with this change afterwards?

Experts please help me

Hello guys, I hope everybody's doing just fine with their own application. I just wanted to ask for some suggestions especially for those people who have undergone this.

I have just recently received a rejection letter from BIQ HK stating that my scores are not high enough to be selected as an immigrant through QSW. Here's the detailed breakdown of the points allocated.

Niveau de scolarite 4/12
Domaine de formation 0/16
Experience prof. 4/8
Age 16/16
Francaise inter.orale 0/16
Anglais inter.orale 6/6
Sejour au Quebec 0/5
Famille aue Quebec 0/3
Offre emploi valide 0/10
Autonomie financie 1/1

This would total to 31 points but I would need 49 points for my application to be accepted. The weird thing about this is that I have finished two degrees. I have a degree in Biology (Genetics major) and a degree in Nursing. I've used my degree in nursing to apply through QSW as I have already practiced my profession for more than a year now. However they have only awarded me four points in the 'Niveau de scolarite" which should have been at least 10 since I have finished college (four points would imply that I have only finished high school) and an additional 12 points for the "Domain de formation" since nursing is one of the jobs which is highly in demand in Quebec. Oddly enough they have awarded me four points for my experience working as a company nurse as stated in the application that I have sent them. How could that be possible if I haven't finished my degree(s)?

Anyways, I have until February 24 to submit my appeal. They are asking for new documents that I have not yet provided for them to be able to take up my case again. What do you think should I send them? I have already submitted the notarized copies of the two degrees that I have and the diplomas. I have also sent copies of my registration to the professional order of nurses here in the Philippines. Any help would be greatly appreciated especially those who have also undergone this procedure ( @ angeleye).

Thank you very much!

Hi everyone (especially solokru and angeleye, egrace, all the CSQ wiz here )

I really need your advise.
I've been visiting this forum for some time now. I am in the same situation above [just found out this morning :-( ] I was just wondering what you guys did or submitted for the appeal or can suggest to me?

I have a Bachelors in Physiotherapy(5 years Univ.), graduated 1999, had 2 years experience in this field (before 2005) another 1 year experience (after 2005), then the rest of my experiences are on business and online freelance work. Hubby has a Bachelor in Nursing, graduated 1998, had 2 years experience in this field (before 2005), then the rest are on sales and marketing. We've both been attending a French class for a month now (not alliance though, cause they only have offices in the Capital city.), we had to transfer our residence to another City near us where the only French class was available - talk about sacrifices.)

Applied Oct. 2010, AOR received 2 weeks after. Submitted all notarized copies of everything including my business permits. Sent them a copy of our enrollment receipt for the French class, IDs with the instructor's name. We've even bought French audio books to supplement our beginners knowledge.

Like Solokru and Angeleye, I'm really confused with the computation.
I've found my hubby's old IELTS score, I know I'm need to send that with my appeal, but what else? - can't really think straight here. We didn't get any points for our trainings?

Niveau de scolarite 6/12
Domaine de formation 0/16
Experience prof. 0/8
Age 16/16
Francaise inter.orale 0/16
Anglais inter.orale 6/6
Sejour au Quebec 0/5
Famille aue Quebec 0/3

Conj. Scolarite 2/3
Conj. domaine de formation 0/4
Conj. Age 3/3
Con. Francais 0/6

Offre emploi valide 0/10

Autres facteurs 5/9
Enfants 4/8
Autonomie financier 1/1

I can't even think clear right now...I only have 60 days to comply ... no one to turn to except here...

thanks guys.

any reply is appreciated.

Guys, question for those, who got rejected - did you get back your documents? I'm asking, cause if so, it will help to save time (and $$$) for translations etc.

thanks and good luck everyone

Stngr,

What do you mean by saving time and money?

Could please explain this in detail?

thanks
