I doubt that the Federal election result will cause Quebec to change its immigration laws ;).

May or may not be we must wait and see, I was in Canada (Toronto and Montreal) for a little vacation and even before then and throughout I have been following the election campaigns very closely. The liberals seem to have a much nicer slant to immigration than the Conservatives or the NDP, Green Party etc. Also I wont discount that the system wont change for Quebec (hopefully for the better and easier streamlined) because the new prime minister is Justin Trudeau; his dad of course is Pierre Trudeau of which the airport in Montreal was named after because of his fight for the sovereignty for Quebec and bilingualism for Canada.

I agree that the Liberal party has some interesting & positive policies on federal immigration programmes.

(I think you might like to do a little more research on Pierre Trudeau & his outlook & policies on Quebec sovereignty/separatism; he was a federalist through & though...).

I'm a *huge* Pierre Trudeau "fan" (I once had the privilege of meeting him briefly). I'm not so sure that his son is quite of the same caliber, but I see his election as positive for Canada.

Dear Seniors and all,

I have a question regarding legality of work, since the bureau as well as the local government where my partner (de facto) previously worked is not providing certificate for tax exemption, and only advised us to print the revenue resolution regarding tax exemption for minimum wage earner, do we still need to write a letter explaining the data gathered? Or do we still need to get the certificate through an attorney? Kindly please advise. Thanks!

ALL HAIL THE PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU!!!!

Finally we have someone and some party that loves immigration issues! Can't wait to start feeling the changes hot on the Quebec grounds since he is a true SON OF THE SOIL!

Red is the color! Our blood is red!!! The Maple Leaf is red!!!

To all, liberal parties immigration thinking are as follows.....
measures.
Citizenship:
Repeal bill C-24, also known as the Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act, and ensure a strong and united Canada where all citizens are treated equally.
Temporary Foreign Workers:
Increase accountability and transparency in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
Establish a mandatory complaint tracking system.
Ensure compulsory and regular workplace audits.
Require mandatory disclosure of investigations into abuses of the program.
Require mandatory disclosure of federal employer compliance reviews.
Establish a monthly disclosure regime that indicates the number of temporary foreign workers in Canada by (i) region, (ii) National Occupation Classification code, and (iii) employer.
Refugees:
Provide more help in Iraq and Syria through a well funded and well planned humanitarian aid effort.
Expand the target number of Syrian refugees to 25,000.
Expand refugee targets and give more victims of war the opportunity to start a new life in Canada.
Other:
Increase funding and a more welcoming attitude by the government to improve Canada’s record on family reunification, refugees, and citizenship.

Friends, pls I need your advice regarding the below , got it from my lawyer, does it mean that I’m on the safe side  taking in consideration the AOR was received on September,2011. Many thanks.

File is in line for preliminary evaluation since August 26, 2015. File received 23 mars 2015.
Maximum delay for preliminary assessment is 3 month + delay for section are 9 months.
Your file is still within regular processing time.

Thanks,
DIP

Your case is similar to mine. I updated the docs they requested on 2 july and still waiting. But how do u know that ur file is at preliminary evaluation stage. There is no way that they confirm at what stage the file is. Did you call them or did you receive any email confirming the same. If so, than what do you think would be my file status which is similar to yours

preliminary evaluation and preliminary review are different things . preliminary evaluation is done by yourself before submitting file and preliminary review is started after verification of file is completed which takes about 40 months for india then 3 months for preliminary review and 9 months for selection review
