Here in Cameroon TEF is administered by Centre Culturelle Francais, I registered and scored B2 first time. My question now must my wife also score B2, before I get through to interview? French people are so crazy and keep families waiting and waiting.

Basing on the newly posted info by our comrade here in the forum yes!, you need to have B2 Diploma first before you will be queued for interview... It's confusing because based on the previously posted info on this thread i have read a lot of posting saying that they don't have french diplomas submitted and yet they got their CSQ.... and oh, by the way, i came from AF months ago inquiring about B2 and they told me that i must finish the B1 level first before i can sit for B2... :(

guys.. hope your fine.. i need your answer wat kind of french exam i would take for csq ? hope you can help me.. i dnt hve any idea if delf b2 or tcf?
:D ;D :D

Hi everyone !

I've been absent from the forum for a year now. Wanted to check up on how the old chaps are doing !

Is my understanding of the current situation correct ?
> All old applications like mine (Mar 2011) will be assessed according to the new rules.
> Language requirements are a min of B2, below which there will be no points awarded.
> Old applicants not meeting this criteria will soon

get a rejection letter.

Thanks :)

Defenitly you nees B2 and they will give you 18 months to update them with the french test result.

I think your application won't be returned to you as long as you only lack the high school diploma, they might ask you to submit it later if it is needed but you will have your A.O.R.first before you can up date your application...

Does this mean my wife will also have to sit and passed B2 french? I know this is far reached for her? Under new rules with my B2 we score 60 pts. Hope this suffice to get interview invitation. But to ask for B2 for my spouse also is a crazy thing these Quebec folks can use to eliminate us.

That is not accurate. You can apply without B2 if you have enough points overall. Then, you can update later if you like.

You can get B2 directly without B1 at AF by taking TEF or TCFQ. They must have told you about DELF.

yes, you are right encrypted..anyone can apply and be queued for interview even without french if you got enough points but having B2 will help a lot if you are shortfall of points..by the way, thank you for the info i am currently enrolled in AF and I'll be taking the TEFaQ soon enough...I hope all of us will have our visa in GOD's perfect time... :)

18 months will be given only if you have less than 57(without adaptability and french points) as per new point system.

I think, 18 months is the timeframe starts from the date when you receive email intimation from BIQ.

By the way what is your total points as per new rules?

Well, first part in what I said is just logical. If you have enough points (63) without french then why should they set deadline to learn french to attain B2 level?

second part, It was just my guess. I'm not sure when your 18 months deadline may starts from. I didn't receive any communications from BIQ regarding short of any points. I'm scoring 64 points without french and adaptability points as per new rules. Like me there are hundreds in this forum who has score more than 63 without french and adaptability.

They won't contact all canditates....here is what they said on web:

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/questions-answers.html#august

6. Will the Ministère inform all candidates who have already submitted their file and who are affected by the changes effective August 1, 2013?

No. The Ministère will contact candidates if they are missing any information required for the review of their file or as soon as a decision has been made.

All of the information pertaining to the changes to immigration rules and procedures has been available on the Ministère’s website since July 8, 2013.
