Hi All ,

Please help ,

I am graduate guy working in India for IT Company. I got my assessment done and I am eligible for quebec immigration with 53 points . I am a married guy but unfortunately I am living separately from my wife from last 3 to 4 months .So I have following queries

1. Can I apply as principal applicant and say my wife will not accompany me ?
2. So I will be eligible for 49 points criteria ?
3. Will there be any delay in processing of my file as I am having status as separate ?
4. Will they reject or refuse my file due to my martial status. ?

Please advice me on above issue as I am getting very much confused because of my martial status .

Since the missions are updated till end of Dec 2013 ,we can expect the next update during the first week of January 2014.
I rang BIQ this time the person was kind enough to say my file is half way through the verification.I asked if he could tell if me if my file is in priority processing ,he said yes....

Hello Milad_86,

I found a valuable piece of information that a forum member posted here not so long ago,

Open this link and go to page 3, I have gathered and translated the most important information there:

Pour les candidats qui ont présenté une demande d'immigration à partir du 1er août 2013,
les règles de la référence en francisation applicables
comme mesure administrative d'exception, sont les suivante

For the candidates who submitted a request of immigration from August 1st, 2013, the applicable rules(rulers) of the reference in "francisation" as administrative measure of exception, are a following ones:

• Le candidat sans conjoint doit pouvoir obtenir une note minimale de 39 points à l'ensemble des
facteurs de la grille, excluant le facteur Adaptabilité.

· The candidate without spouse must be able to obtain a minimal note(mark) of 39 points to all the factors of the bar, excluding the factor Adaptability.

Au moment de l'examen préliminaire, la référence en francisation n'est possible que si le
requérant principal possède déjà un niveau intermédiaire faible, de niveau de compétences 5 ou
6 de l'Échelle québécoise (soit B1).

At the time of the preliminary examination, the reference in "francisation" is possible only if the main applicant already possesses a low(weak) intermediate level, of skill level 5 or 6 of the Scale From Quebec (that is B1).

• Un délai maximal de 12 mois est octroyé au requérant principal pour hausser ses compétences en français au niveau requis et ainsi satisfaire aux
exigences de la grille de sélection.

· A maximal deadline(extension) of 12 months is granted to the main applicant to raise his(her, its) skills in French at the required level and so satisfy the requirements of the railing(bar) of selection.

To summarize this is what I have been able to understand. For all applicants who will apply after August 1st 2013, will be given the opportunity to apply under "francisation" if they are able to meet the following requirements:

1) Applicants must have a least 39 pts before French.
2) In order to apply applicants must have at least a B1 level
3) If all of the above are met, applicants will be given a grace period of 12 months to present a B2 French proficiency diploma.

If anyone has an opinion on this topic or would like to add something please do so, once again the above information only applies to those who will be applying AFTER AUGUST 01, 2013

Hi,

I just want help..

I am Pharmacist from Egypt Working in Saudi Arabia I sent my file to Montreal on August,2011. They sent me letter including my file number.
Till now I didn't receive any thing from them regarding the interview. I indicated in the application that my level of english is 4 which is higher biggner. After the new modification in the process should I send the TEF result. Moreover, I got marrieg last Februray, 2013 should and I will send the application of my wife is that will affect my situation?

Hossam - I guess you have to update your file with your marital status. your point calculation as a single is different, and you may gain more points as a married person. Also if you have kids you will get more points, regarding the TEF, i am not sure if you need a specific score as they now need always a prrof of language profeciency.

Guys, I need your advice on something. This might be off topic but I find this forum really helpful. I received an email from BC's Children's Hospital (which I'm not sure if its legit). It stated: After evaluation of your resume thru online job posting, we are pleased to tell you that you were chosen for the position of a Staff Nurse (Philippine Board licensed) and/or Healthcare Assistant (unlicensed Nurse & medical allied course graduate) for BC Children’s Hospital in CANADA.

"NOTE: No experience required because there is a FREE ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT) with salary & FREE board & lodging within the contract period at BC Children’s Hospital – Canada. Registration with the Board of Nursing in Canada & IELTS registration will be processed by our employers, no need to take exams. We are offering working visa NOT student visa."

It gave instructions that I should enroll for a BC Children’s Hospital Work Permit/Visa Coaching which is worth 3,750 Pesos or approximately 90 dollars. it will be for 3 days and will include orientation and contract signing on the last day.

Lastly, they said "NO HIDDEN CHARGES! Airfare, work permit & working visa will be shouldered by the employer, the only expenses that you are going to shoulder is the medical exam fee & BC Children’s Hospital Work Permit/Visa Coaching fee because this is on a DIRECT/NAME HIRE BASIS."

I am very doubtful about this. But if any of you know if this is true or not, please give me a heads up. I would really, really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hey Milad_86,

I would not know how to answer this, but I think the closer you are to the 49 pts the less points you need from French, for example if you have 45 pts. before French you only need 5 extra points to reach the required 49 pts. so a B2 in either mandatory competence should be enough.

Hello All,
I have a question.
1) Where can i found information on how many points have been awarded based on applicant profile and threshold set by Quebec?
2) I do not speak French but I am fluent in English. Should I apply?

Thanks

HI.. I need help on this matter. I have read from a site that to qualify for QSWP you need to at least have a year of experience directly related to area of training if you got your degree after 5 years from the time of application. In my case, I graduated last March 2008, BS Nursing in the Philippines.. but my work experience is as a Caregiver in a Nursing Homes abroad.. do you think I still qualify? anyone here with the same case as that of mine? thank you.. hope to hear from you..
