Need help with calculation of points under new rules after August 1st 2013!

IELTS (overall 8.5 band score) (Sp=9, OralComp=8.5, Written=8.5, Reading=8.5) = ? pts
Work Experience (12-24 months) = ? pts
Past stay in Quebec (full time student for 4 years (2000-2004)) = ?pts

What I meant is U062 / NOC 2147 is for Computer Engineers (chip designers, network and system engineers). "Computer Program Analyst" is something totally different, and rather close to programming, which is U115 and NOC 2173/2174.

I think if you job experience is rather NOC 2173, then you should have put U115 for AOT (Sciences de l'informatique (BACC. - 3 ans)), because U062/NOC 2147 and U115/NOC 2173 or 2174 job descriptions hardly match. That is why you got 0 points for job experience, it does not match with U062/NOC 2147. U115 on the other hand could work for you. Now you have to re-apply I think, but first wait for new AOT list, if U115 is still there.

What should i do now?? will i get the points for U062 or U115 according the new rules?? If yes SO how many will i get for it? Please reply soon ITS very urgent Thanks.

Ok..i have yet another question thats causing me some stress!

Do i qualify for job experience (12-24mths = 4 pts) if my position was software engineer/IT consultant but my AOT is Computer Engineering (Bach - 4years from USA) when considering both old and new rules?!?!

Just wondering!

Any advice grateful !

Computer Science is still there in the new AOT list, under Foreign Diplomas for 6 points. That totally matches your education, and if your job description matches NOC 2173 or 2174 (google them), than I would forget previous application, and reapply now, with a new one, ASAP. Of course you have to put all documents in the envelope in the required format again (certified copies, originals, etc. as required). Choose U115 Computer Science (Bach. - 3 years) for AOT in the form.

But I am no consultant, this is just my suggestion.

But i am very confused about my degree and the job titles.... i have done Bachelors in computer science and engineering (4yrs) and also done my Masters in computer science(2yrs) and since then i am doing the job in the Software engineer field as a Computer programm Analyst and then promoted to java lead architect for 5yrs and then last year i changed the company and i am currently working as Sr.MTS( Member of technical staff) in Research and development department. Please advice on the AOR and work experience points which can improve my application.

I don't want to start from the scratch again .. Please help me

Unfortunately it is clear, if you sent your application before this date, and your file has not been processed yet... then unfortunately your file will be under new rules,

UNFORTUNATELY, since the last quarter of 2012, AOR is beign late .. i got it in three months, but after that, our friends in the forum got it after 7 months !

so i am afraid those have not got AOR ( AT LEAST ),,,, they are in danger of beign assesed according to new rules ...

Mee too, but we are not in priority any more .. as there is nothing called PRIORITY now, for skilled workers ... ))

what do you understand with the order of priority? this is how I interpret it, you will only be in priority if you belong to 1 and 2, at number 3 "applications from candidates who obtain points from AOT" here I think we all have points from AOT It does not specify if you have 16, 12, or 6 points, meaning we will be treated equally first come first serve if you belong in number 3. what do you think guys?

I am really confuse...for new applicant French is compulsory?
If one dont want french points, and if he score 60 points, can he apply? they say

the weighting in the selection grid for knowledge of French has changed. The level required to obtain points for the factor Language knowledge has been increased;
the advanced intermediate level has become the minimum threshold from which points are attributed for knowledge of oral and written French;
two points can be attributed to the principal applicant for knowledge of written French.

Anyone understands this?

as soon as you obtain the needed minimum points, yes you can apply even if you do not claim points for French, but here possibility of interview increases a lot ... so it is better to have some extra points to survive the interview ( 6 points more than minimum needed )

yes in process will not be effected, i got AOR in October 19th, and i am in process according to call centre ..

the ppl who pick up calls doesnt know that AOR means file processed, because when they refuse file.

everyone just take 6 month french with clever teacher will be fine

one girl on call center told me i beleive that the AOR will automatically make your file In Process phase ..

You have a continuous work experience in the last 5 years, out of which 4 are totally related to U115, and you only need 1. There should be no problem, 12 points education, 6 points AOT, 8 points work experience.

What does "processing"mean again?

no one knows yet, but most likely if you got File number then you are in processing phase..
