2009 List of areas of training
The 2009 List of areas of training (PDF, 224 Kb) now awards differentiated points to areas of training based on if they are recognized by a foreign diploma or a Québec diploma (or equivalent);
The 2009 List of areas of training (PDF, 224 Kb) applies to applications processed according to the regulation in effect as at October 14, 2009.
The Ministère prioritizes the processing of immigration applications filed by skilled worker candidates with diplomas in areas of training that, in Québec, show good prospects for professional integration. These are the areas of training that get 12 or 16 points in the 2009 List of areas of training (PDF, 224 Kb).
The diploma must have been awarded within the five years preceding the application for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec Selection Certificate). Failing this, the candidates must have practised for at least one year, during the five years preceding the application for a CSQ, a profession or trade directly related to the diploma obtained and for which they are being assessed.
