Of course you can ! but you will increase the possibility of begin called for interview rather than getting waived.jalbertik said:Hi experts,
I am planning on applying through QSWP, and my question is if I am required to submit also the TEF results? I have only taken the IELTS and have enough points without the TEF language test.
For me, my ability to understand was more important in the interview. My accent and word finding in French are not that good but I understand pretty well. Most of the interview was just responding to basic questions about my application (of course you should be able to answer why do you want to live in Quebec in french). The interviewer also asked at the beginning if I wanted to do it in English, but I replied I would like to do it in French if I could. I was much more concerned than I really needed to be. This was also 2.5 years ago, its possible things have changed since then with some of the recent language tension.gery79 said:if one doesn't have a good fluent french what are the chances to fail the interview?

Even if your score is enough, French & English certificates are mandatory to provide along with all your documents since 6th Dec 2011, if you don't provide any of them, they will return your application.signalmaker said:Of course you can ! but you will increase the possibility of begin called for interview rather than getting waived.

Hi, I don't agree with, that was before 6th Dec 2011, but after that date, no any application will be accepted if not enclosed English & French test no matter the score or the marks you get,but MUST SEND BOTH TEST CERTIFICATES.....& the higher score will help you to get more points according to specific score table.....mkshah said:hi,
just to correct you..
If you are not submitting french/english test certificates, THEN THEY WILL NOT RETURN YOUR APPLICATION. In this case, you will not get any points for language proficiency. You must tick relevent box given in qsw application form.

pls refer below link for more info:
www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/official-immigration-application/requirements-programs/language-skills.htm
below lines shows that you can submit application without language test certificates:
Awarding of points
For the purposes of evaluating the immigration
application, points for language proficiency will now
only be awarded as a function of the scores
confirmed on the attestations of results submitted by
the candidates.
Candidates who do not submit any language test
results must specify this by marking the appropriate
box on their Application for Selection Certificate.
Attestations of results must have been issued
less than two years prior to the date the application is
submitted.

I do not understand why so many of us here are arguing over French "supremancy". It seems to me that most who are "for" the French and posting updates constantly are from African countries where French is one of the official language. Unfortunately, there are many others in this world from other parts of the world(not really African countries) that may not have the same skill of French but are well-educated and skilled for jobs. So obviously, these threats are aimed towards those of us. This is a kind of false scare and alarm going around. Quebec and Canada are BIG GIRLS, they know how to deal with French-speaking, non-french-speaking, little french-speaking candidates etc and I would not want to keep contemplating on every move they take. They are like any other huge democracy - free to make immigration changes and we will all move to quebec if those changes suit us. Ofcourse, if whatever these members keep saying about francophones and Canada happens then obviously I will b the first person to not move. I do not have any problems learning a new language. Infact, I learnt 5 years French in high school and now, as an adult, just revisited it for a few weeks before I got everything back to me. If we would suspect Quebec only wants francophones, then we won't go. it is as simple as that! When my chance comes to move, I will evaluate the situation and decide to go or not to go.
The bigger problem, as signalmaker, has pointed out is taxes, job, regulations for certain professions, survival jobs, homes, schools etc. What's the bi deal about French? MILLIONS of people come to the US every year wothout knowing English, don't they pick it up? Ofcourse they do. We need to look at the bigger picture on how to plan our move rather than think whether quebec will separate or whether quebec will only prefer francophones and etc. To me, this thinking if foolish thinking and I rather focus my energy on more important aspects.
