hey guyz, wanted to share that i landed in Montreal on may 23. post landing experience was smooth, and im done with my basic formalities as well. nw searching for job. any advices and suggestions are highly welcome

mdammalli,
its not uncommon for applicants to be called to HK for the interview. there were many cases in this thread itself who were called to HK - from Ind & Pak. If you get called, dont miss it. money comes and goes.. but an interview for teh CSQ.... well you know the wait for it ! ;D

I never heard before anybody going to HK for CSQ interview..

Seriously I cannot afford in my present situation..

Chances are low as I think they are going to call 2011(starting from Jan) applicants for interview and as we know 2011 applications are huge in number.

well AOR doesn't means your application has been reject or accept. First of all they will check all your docs required for your application after that they started verification checks according to me..! because if your docs are not completed they will be sending you a letter stating we need your X docs for example if you have claimed C1 of french they will not send you aor they will send u a letter stating please provide us French test result

hey! thanks for ur quick responses really helpful. well, now my confusion is over regarding what an AOR is...i was thinking AOR is where the BIQ itself calculates ur points and tells u if u have been accepted or rejected. so what exactly is an AOR then? i will tell u in detail now what my situation is....

i had sent my app in dec2011 and received a letter in mid jan saying my file is open. basically it is such type of a letter:

then, like u said the embassy wil send a letter in case any docs are missing ..i received a letter asking for my ielts and french marks sheet.and that if i dont sentd it within 6 months they wil b obligated to close my file. but i sent it way before time.
i sent both my french and ielts general in may..may 15th to b precise.

please can u tell me what will be the next step now? some people are saying confusing things like the next step will now b a letter saying "whether the emabssy has rejected or accepted" my application...i just need to know the sequence of things..

For this you have to contact your consultant ! whether he had received AOR ? or not ? remember 1 thing consultants are always dodgy for corsspodence give your address and for advice you can have his services

I am also looking for options to immigrate to Quebec.

Given below is my profile, could you please help and tell whether can I qualify under QSW immigration program:

Principal Applicant:

Nationality: Indian
Age: 35 Yrs
Qualification:Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (1 Year Full time) Passed out in 2001
Master of Science in Computer Science (1 Year Distance Education) Passed out in 2003
Master of Computer Applications ( 1 Year Distance Education Mode) Passed out in 2004

Experience: Working in IT field with total experience of 8 Years (starting from 2004)

English: Good command (Will sit for IELTS - Can get 6 to 7 Bands easily)
French: Enrolled for AF Classes (Initial Basic)

Spouse:

Nationality: Indian
Age: 35 Yrs
Qualification:
Master of Arts ( 2 Yrs Full Time) Passed out in 1999
Diploma in Physical Education ( 1 Yr Full Time) Passed out in 2001
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (1 Year Distance Education) Passed out in 2002

Experience: Teaching Experience (in Physical Education) of 9 Years (Housewife from last 2 Yrs)

English: Can Manage (Basic Knowledge)

Thank you very much. I read somewhere online about the cut off being 68 points after the interview and wanted to make sure. It must be an old article that i read.

for this i will recommend you to write down an email or give them a call asking about you AOR tell them you full name as on passport and your date of birth they might be able to track your application

trust me last week one friend got 1 point so people do you best to take full points

well they are not giving 1 point to every one adabtibility means your research about Quebec you should give people a nice suggestion rather then tell them bad experiences. Try to explain how did ur friend got 1 point ? what was the reason if you don't know about Quebec then you will get 1 point which is the softness of IO

AOR1 is acknowledgement of receipt, which is what that letter is.
after this the Quebec will calculate your points, and depending on factors will decide whether to call you for an in-person interview or not.
At the interview you will need to carry ur original docs, and they will check you knowledge of french if you have claimed you have some.
If everything turns out fine, they will issue you a CSQ.
Using this CSQ along with Police Clearance Certificates from countries you have lived in, you will apply for Federal Processing.
Here they will issue you AOR2 or request for additional docs. If they issue you an AOR 2, they will send you a request for Medicals along with it.
After this they will make a decision if your application is accepted of declined. If accepted they will send you a request for your Passport and send it back with a stamped VISA with a validity of 1 year within which you will have to enter Canada and claim yur PR.
