This is the foot note of the document (Pg. no.1) posted by Mr. Nirav.

The Indian education system has undergone major reforms during the 1980s. All states have gradually adopted a system called "10 +2 +3", 10 years of elementary and junior high, two years of graduate school and three years of undergraduate university cycle. Before the introduction of this reform, educational systems vary from state to state. For example, a "Bachelor of Arts" is now asking invariably 15 years of study. Previously, the same degree could be obtained after 13, 14 or 15 years of study. The Indian Education Assessment varies with the number of grades required for their achievement, this comparative table applies only to the degrees obtained by the system "10 2 3".
2 The degrees awarded by private institutions not recognized by the government can not be comparative evaluation for studies done outside Québec by the Centre of Expertise on training acquired outside Québec (CEFAHQ) and consequently does are eligible for points in the grid.
3 Degrees that get 10 points are those obtained 12 or 16 points to criterion 1.2 Areas of training (this applies to the under-skilled worker category only).

Thanks Niravk.

Regarding this link: http://www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/telecharge.php?type=7&file=GPI_3_1_INDE.pdf , there is a footnote next to MBA "For degrees awarded by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) alone." Please comment on the following:

1. What if someone does MBA from any other insitute, and not IGNOU? (Will that mean anyone who has done an MBA / MMS from other univ from India will not be treated for immigration....I met a consultant last week at Ahmedabad wherein I asked him if my degree was an MMS from Mumbai University, I would fetch 12 pts under education)

2. What if someone does a PGDBA or PGDM, and not MBA? (this is my own case..I have done Post Graduate Diploma in Business Admin (PGDBA) which is not recognized as a degree for immigration purpose..U get 4 pts as per the table of comparison. About Post Graduate Degree in Management (PGDM)..I have no idea)

3. IMPORTANT: What if the course is for 1/2/3 years?

4. What if someone does it through correspondence/online and not full time residential? (no idea...)

Regards,

Nirav and Other

If u do MBA or master degree from any recognised university then u will get full 12 points.

Yes this was what I was trying to say..

Your certificate should specify "Masters in....."

Hope your doubts are cleared Quebec_2012 and Humayun

hi,

I'm a MBA graduate (HRM), grduated from Anna University (a recognized by govt. of India). As per your message I can claim 12 points.

How much points will I get for training? cuz in the list of training there is no specified training mentioned. But in section they have mentioned Human Resource Management (Bach 3yrs) - 6points.

Am I eligible to claim this 6 points?

Clear my doubt. :( ???

Thanks both.

Niravk - your comment is incomplete. "I met a consultant last week at Ahmedabad wherein I asked him if my degree was an MMS from Mumbai University, I would fetch 12 pts under education". What did the consultant tell you?

Still Hope - what if I do a 1 year Executive MBA or 2 year part-time MBA from a recognized university (Symbiosis, Sikkim Manipal, IMT, etc.)? Will it still get me 12 points? Any docs or information you have?

Any problems with the course being through correspondence or regular - or all 12 points?

Regards,
