Dear MkShah,

I totally agree with you. I am afraid that the quota will be dried out within this year. :(
But do you think reducing the application flow will help new abiding rule applicants process faster ? As we all know that now a days, just AOR takes +2months to get.

Br,
Ezaz

@ ezaz,
If u see the below tracker, for period of 17 months from Dec-2010 to March-2012, there are almost 15700 files received by only 1 BIQ-HK with average of 900 files per month.
So just imagine if all BIQs across the globe have received total how many files during the same period. This number reaches to some 90000+ odd files.

This heavy flow of applications have caused a kind of "system jamming" in processing qsw applications which resulted in the increased processing times and that is also the reason why fast biq such as biq hk were taking as much as 2 months for issuing aor.

But this new rules phenomenon have caused the flow of new files to reduce drastically for BIQs. It can be very well seen from the latest numbers of received files published by quebec website. Just 40 files received for a period of 7 days which is total of all files received across the globe.

If we see the status of pending applications, Applicants from some of biq such as damascus are waiting for interview/csq from as long as 20 months now and there are more than 40000+ applications pending for processing since august 2010 for this biq. For biq hk this figure is 15000+ applications pending since Nov 2010.

So, what we can expect now is, that the main focus of all biqs will be to complete the processing of pending applications as much fast as possible. And with the current trend of new applications, biqs will have some more time for processing of pending applications.

So, It will be really good for old applicants who are waiting for their interview/csq since many months.

Thanks for your well wishes.

My AOT was not priority. I graduated in the US and could have been given priority if I had 1st obtained my engineering license from the OIQ, I didn't apply for my license until later though. I hope it goes well.

Good luck to everybody waiting.

I have someone that made a csq application as the principal applicant and including her 3 children in the application without her husband even though the husband wrote and attached in the application that he is willing to be sponsored by the wife later . is there a possibility that the application will not eventually be considered even though she has received an AOR?

Kindly advice
Hello
The immigration procedures/Law states that "You should include your husband/wife even though he/she is not accompanying you to Canada
right now....So try and understand what you are doing before you rope yourself into what you are innocent off.....The Law does not recongnised
ingnorant as an excuse

Thanks and Goodluck

Hi J.C,

congrts , i hope u'll receive ur PPR very soon !!
I am also waiting for my MR, i received AOR from NS on 1st may saying that my file is complete & it will be transferd to VO.
VO is New Delhi for me too, Could u pls let me know how long it will take to get MR ?

thanks!
Well, MR varies with the VO one applies through, for JC it was pretty fast, he sent his Federal application this year and he has already gotten his MR, for me I sent my Federal application October last year and I just got my MR on the 22nd of May this year which seems quite in line with the processing time for my VO as obtained in the link below as at the time I sent my application;

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp

You should have an idea of how long it is likely to take to receive your MR because after MR one will have another 2 to 3 months to get PR if everything goes well.

Cheers

Dear All,

I have a very important question about education:

What exactly is the definition of 1 yr diploma?

I'm an export agent. I hold an advanced diploma from the "Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers" in the U.K. This is the governing entity of my industry. In order to obtain this diploma, one must pass two exams over the period of 2 years. You are given a study guide for both exams and you must sit the exam within one year. There are no "in class" lessons or anything like it.
Will immigration Quebec recognize this diploma? Will I be awarded the correspondent points for a 1 year diploma? I would really appreciate an answer.

Thanks to all,

Yes lemans207, I'm from India and I already applied for CSQ last November. As per MKshah's timeline assessment I may get interview somewhere last quarter of this year or first quarter of the next year (hopefully) for group B, till I got chance to reach upto A2 level.

Special thanks to Bajan4Quebec, Bachar, lemans207 for putting light on my query.
You're welcome

I found some information that may interest you

Can I apply for Permanent Resident status and temporary status (Work Permit/Study Permit/Temporary Resident Visa) at the same time?

You can apply for Permanent Resident status and Temporary status at the same time. Canadian Immigration policy recognizes the concept of dual intent.

Dual Intent

Dual Intent refers to the concurrent processing of an application for Permanent Residence and an application for Temporary Status, therefore demonstrating the intention to both reside in Canada permanently and only temporarily, at the same time.

Although this may appear contradictory at first glance, in fact it is possible. Imagine, for example, the following scenario:

An individual submits an application for a Canada Immigration Visa. Before receiving the Canada Immigration Visa, the individual wishes to visit Canada for a short time and applies for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), or appears at the Port of Entry, if a national of a TRV (visa exempt country). This is perfectly acceptable as long as the individual intends to leave Canada at the end of the visit.

The same principle applies to individuals who are in the process of applying for a Canada Immigration Visa and wish to obtain a temporary Work Permit or Study Permit.

An individual whose application for Permanent Residence in Canada is pending is subject to the same requirements as others when seeking entry into Canada temporarily. The individual should therefore have a reasonable purpose for entry, be prepared to leave Canada at the end of the temporary stay and understand that if a Canada Immigration Visa is issued, he or she must leave and re-enter Canada in order to officially land as a Permanent Resident.

An application for Temporary Status may be scrutinized more closely when a Permanent Resident application is under review, as there is an obvious intention to settle in Canada permanently. If the individual’s ties elsewhere can be demonstrated, however, an application for Temporary Status should succeed.

This information was taken from the FAQ list at the following link under "introduction to Canada" http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-immigration-faq.html

This list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) is very comprehensive to assists most questions that anyone may have.

So based on the above I conclude you can apply for your CSQ and while it is in queue, one can temporarily move to Canada to read for a degree. Two possibilities exist. 1) If your status changed to permanent residenct while studying you will still have to leave and return to officially land as a permanent resident. when this happens you will be eligible to pay reduced tuition fees. 2) If your status does not change to permanent resident while studying at the end of your temporary study visa you will have to leave Canada.

Hope this helps
