the age to be considered depends onur age on the date ur application was screened for the first Prelininary evaluation.and there is no way anyone can determine that. the onlyy advice here is that u file ur application before the next change of age.kawakaze said:Hi All,
I am planning to apply for QSW. I have started organising all the relevant documents except TEF. Currently I'm enrolling in an intensive French Class and plan to take TEFaq by January or February 2012. right after I get TEFaq certificate, I'll send my application for immigration process. By late March 2012, I'l be 37 years old. My question is: if i send my application by February or early march 2012, can I claim 14 points (CMIIW) for my age (36 yrs old), or I only can get 12 points becase the AOR is April or Mei 2012. So what is the cut off for my age point? is it AOR?
Merci Boucoup
well dear, sorry for bursting ur bubbles here. cos as rule, those who come into canada via the live-in-a-care giver stream must necessarily work as a live-in-care-giver for a MINIMUM of 2YEARS before they can opt out of that contrat. since u only av spent 6months, i guess u still av some more time to serve b4 u can opt out.lev said:hello again...just curious to know if someone would be able to advise me on my case...i'm currently here in montreal as a live in caregiver for 6 months already but when I read about the QSW, I became interested since the processing time is quickier and sponsoring dependant is much quickier than completing live in caregiver program for 24months first before applying for PR which could take to 4 years...I do want advise if you could think I could apply to QSW? I finished Bachelor's degree in Nursing and has more than 4 years experience full time in total in philippines and United kingdom. Although I have english examination and with regards to french I am planning to start learning about it. I'm 28 years old, married but no kids, my spouse is bachelor's degree and working as well in philippines. Hoping somebody could advise me if it's a good idea for me to apply QSW even im in a live in caregiver program. thanks so much...

while either of C1 or C2 gives 16points ( 8points each for speaking and listening) he score c1 and b2 thats why we gave him 8 + 6

egrace should be right about the 2 yr contract thing for live-in-caregivers. but here is another idea...
you've been in montreal for 6 months only right ? so technically your BIQ is still Hong Kong. To apply from another country u need 1 year visa not 1 year stay so what you do is, gather all your documents for yourself and your spouse, and file for the CSQ at BIQ,HK. The processing for nurses are quite rapid and you can expect an interview call in 6-8 months. But you will have to fly down to HK/wherever for the Interview.
maybe others can also provide some input on this idea...
i ddnt quite understand. philippines is her home country and shes in montreal for the last 6 months. csq appl has to be processed from hk, since she has been in another country (canada) for less than 6 months right ?STILLHOPE said:To apply from another country u need 1 year visa not 1 year stay

or am i waay off the target lol ??? doesnt matter u r in another country even for one day but if u have 1 year valid visa then u can apply if u have less then 1 year visa then u cant apply from that country, then u have to apply from your home country and secondly its upto her that she want to chose any visa office both options is available for her.
Applicants for Permanent Residence
You must select the visa office that serves your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year
