Hey guys !!!

There is one mission for Asia, BIQ Hong Kong (April 18 to May 26) running now but still no any good news from Hong Kong, BIQ applicants.
So what's going on there, guys ? Is that mission only for People's Republic of China and Philippines ?

Hope somebody would come out with good news in near days !!!!!!!

Yogie

@yogie,

I am also a little but worried, I was supposed to be called for interview but it seems that BIQ HK doesn't have any intention to give good news to its applicants :D.

Anyhow we can't do anything other than waiting so let's hope for the best.

Good luck

Yogie and Quebec 2011,

Guys relax!!...its always better to have your interview in your home country..!!..Believe me its better waiting some months for the that important day if ultimately it works in your favor!!...In the mean time you can always work on your french!!

Good luck

Special homage to the pioneers of this thread, Shahi,Egrace,AngelEyes, Shazad,Lrjina(sp) etc and everyone i forgot to mention. You've trail blazed the way for us ;)
Wish i had stumbled across this thread a month or so ago. Silly me, i've been holding back from slotting in an application i've been busy cleaning up the overdraft in my bank account believing i needed to submit one with my application >:(

And now my situ.....

Am a 27yr UK based foreign national, been here for over 7yrs now working and studying. I completed and graduated with an MA in Finance mid last yr and a BA in Finance the previous year.

My problem is in pretty much all this time i've not been able to accumulate much experience in my field of study due to their immigration laws here, consequently like many in my position, i've been confined to odd jobs of social care, health care assistant, personal support assistant roles etc can't take it no more am tired :'( :-[
Question is will such experience earn me enough points to take me to Quebec, will this reflect badly on my application, the fact that the bulk of my experience is in work which is not only different from qualifications but 'inferior'?

Concerning French; i did 1 yr of french in primary school didn't take a liking to it, but am a bit conversant nonetheless, so i wouldn't say am level zero (0) no, i can introduce myself, say am sick, hungry, i love you etc in French. Have also been refreshing myself through some youtube in the past few weeks.

Everyone's 2 cents please, i don't want to waste my time applying when i clearly don't stand a chance :-\

Re: (No subject)

@ am going going, welcome on board. Not only are u qualified 2ru d Quebec route, but u also wil av ur applicatn priotized cos of ur AOT. Again it's when an applicant qualificatn is older than 5yrs that d Quebec officials tend to insist that experience must b related to qualificatn. So 4get about d overdraft 4now, brush up ur french & take any of d recognised french exam ASAP. U'r qualified bro

Thanks EG62, how very reassuring that is ...

So shall i go ahead and list my experience then, does it count at all , will it earn me any points?

How rigorous are these French exams by the way, which ones have you taken yourself?

And if say i put my french level as Level 2, or 3 even on my application what does that entail, will say Delf A1/A2 be enough to cover those levels?

Also what is an employment certificate, is it different from a letter from a previous employer?

And to even sound stupider, what is this AOR that everyone keeps referring to, what does it mean? :)

Re: (No subject)

@ am going going, (1)first note that for language proficiency, d numbers 1-12 does not imply score/point. They are just scale.delf A1 covers scale 1 & 2, yl A2 covers 3 & 4. french exam can either b rigorous/easy depending on ur determinatn. I took B1 while also registring for A2 as backup. I only cleared A2 and bcos of my high score in A2, i decided to jump to scale 5 instead of 4. With 50% in A2 ur file will b good. (2) different organizatn calls it different things: employment letter/certificate etc but all av same features like. They are on coy's letterhead & they usually contain terms & conditns of employment. (3) AOR means Acknowledgement Of receipt. It's d 1st official communicatn 4rm BIQ to applicants. It comes with ones file number & dossier number. It indicates ones file has been assigned to an officer & that it's pending review on a Queue (3) with just 6months work experience ur applicatn stil does not stand any risk of rejectn. In work experience, the number of months/year of experience qualifies one for point, yl d kind of job u av done is used for ones NOC Classificatn. For Anyone with experience in different fields, the reviewing officer wil only consider just a field in placing d NOC code
