That's right! I got that same e-mail last year and a couple of months later I received my CSQ without interview. Be patient, Newjwel! I received their "attente de decision" on April 30th and then my CSQ was approved on July 15th. Yay!

Ouch...that's barely more than 8k in total. 6300 for the regular QSW category - last year it was 6500 and in 2013 it was 40k (if I remember correctly). Seems like they are decreasing it constantly.

About the announcement this is the worst part:
During the intake period, the Ministère will receive a maximum of 6300 applications for a selection certificate under the Regular Skilled Worker Program. The application intake period will be announced later in 2015.

If you submit an application outside the intake period that will be announced at a later date, it will be returned unless you.

When will it be the intake period come on! Why keeping the mystery? It's like an agony. come on and announce it already!!!

...which is why I am happy that I was lucky enough to be able to switch from the regular QSW to the PEQ once I had completed my 1 year of work experience. I feel bad for those who don't qualify though. Not knowing whether your application will be returned must be very stressful. In that case I would just try to apply ASAP.

does anybody know from where i can certify the copy of my date of birth certificate in india, it's written in the form that it must be certify from the "national, regional or municipal authority in your country of birth". Who can certify that?

6300 was particularly shocking because CanadaVisa was predicting 28,000 application in Skilled Worker category this year.

Looking at the current job market here in Québec, I'm actually not that surprised after all. I guess they want to make sure that no one ends up being unemployed/working in a position not matching their level of experience and expertise. The economic crisis is global and jobs are sparse.

28k? Ha ha never, they are trying to process all the backlogs they have, even from 2011, that's why they even cut from 6500 to 6300 this year, and even though it says rules apply starting April 1st it also says that "intake period" of aplications for QSW is still to be announced later this year, I bet many people will read and misinterpretate the announcement and start sending files on April 1st. People read carefully it clearly says that any application received outside the intake period (which we don't know when will start and end) will be returned. Of course except with PEQ and job offer, caps don't count for them.

Sorry, I should have used a different phrasing here - by saying ASAP, I mean as soon as they announce that the intake period has begun. 6300 applications is certainly not a lot and since people will be waiting eagerly, I am absolutely certain that the cap will fill in no time. Therefore, if one is planning to apply, I would highly recommend to gather all the required documents in advance so that the application is ready to be sent on its way as soon as the application intake period starts.

I read somewhere on the thread that 2013 was 40K but don't take it literally...
