ya jame3a ill get crazy everyday more and more, I have my friend she is from montreal and working in abu dhabi.
she is Canadian /European origins, she doesn't want to go back to montreal or Canada in general,

even my salary better than her even she has Canadian passport ???

she told me she is only paying pension plan but will never go back

she advised me to move to Vancouver, british Colombia better and modern like uae and more jobs better weather.

overall you pay 50% taxes of your salary, el 3ejbo ysade2 el ma msade2 yde2 raso bel 7ayt, youll experience it yourself :D

maybe we better have only pr :D w mnjagel fiya :D

We understand that there are other places out of Quebec that could suit us more than Quebec itself. But the question is: what are the consequences of living out of Quebec when we are going to apply for the citizenship later on? I read once that Quebec government has the right to sue you because you used their own immigration program to get to Canada but what does that mean? Will we not be able to acquire the citizenship if we do so? Don't forget guys that we signed a paper with the application form to undertake that we will be living inside Quebec.

It is amazing guys, how you are reacting. Fear, Hesitation is understandable but the fact that all you are worried about is the tax is unbelievable. for a thing you pay taxes so you can have better services, healthcare, pension plan etc..

If you are happy where you are my advice is relinquish your application or even landing.

For Lemans.

Taxes are not 50 % even in quebec

Below in details are the income tax for 2014 (you have to add EI + CPP)
$41,495 or less 16%
More than $41,495 but not more than $82,985 20%
More than $82,985 but not more than $100,970 24%
More than $100,970 25.75%

So technically if you are getting paid more than 100 000 per year you get to pay general in taxes around 35-40% tops.

And for your information this is the link:http://www.revenuquebec.ca/en/citoyen/impots/rens_comp/taux.aspx?CLR=-1

and you want to calculate exactly how much you pay go to: http://www.paymentevolution.com/Payroll/Calculator

see how they are calculating it, and its logic all Canadians I meet they tell me same story.

There is 15% for federal, +

as Canadian all earn 42000+ you pay 20% for quebec , lets safe for us 16%

Total income taxes 15%+16%= 31%
Everything you buy, you pay 15% VAT
31% +15% = 46%

so range 46% to 54%

her salary in Canada was 80,000$ and said 50% was going taxes , 40,000$ remains,

That's it once you live there youll notice, even my friend since 3 years living in Ottawa he told me you pay taxes around 50%
I was curious like your replies now, he keeps telling me once you come youll see yourself :)

If you calculate it as VAT 15%, you may say what ever I spend I pay, that's not tax, but when only 1000$ remain, youll spend it all so again u pay 15% of it.
your not saving 5000$ , you spend 2000$ x 15% and you save rest 3000$
That's how they calculate it

Guys stop complaining about taxes. In Lebanon we pay taxes on everything we buy, schools and universities are expensive, electricity, telephones, fuel, all are very expensive too. In the end what do we get ? Nothing.

On the other hand in Canada you pay taxes, but at least you have medical is almost for free, universities are cheaper than here, the government provides all services from transportation to environmental, etc. The most important thing, is that when you retire you have a pension from the government and you are paid a monthly salary until your last day.

In Lebanon you must be a government worker to receive a pension, if u r in the private sector you better save enough or you may get screwed.

We complain a lot about taxes, my sister is living in Canada she bought a house almost half a million dollars in Quebec Longueuil area. She is only 37 years, and an employee. She feels secure because she is guaranteed that by the time she retires she will have a constant income from the government, and this is apart from what she has saved.

Even to purchase a house in Canada you can pay for the long term for 25 or 30 years.

I would rather pay taxes and have all these long term benefits.

One advise for all of you that complain, if you have some capital that you can save, open an account in Lebanon in Lebanese pounds and you will receive compounded interest on your money which is almost 5 % a year. Ya3ene if u have 100 000 USD, you make interest of 6000 usd a year. 200 000 usd you make almost 10500 USD a year.

This can make up partially for the money u pay as taxes in Canada.

Guys stop complaining about taxes. In Lebanon we pay taxes on everything we buy,
schools and universities are expensive (You have official schools free in Lebanon and very good, Lebanese university well recognized in quebec)

what is your problem with taxes guys ...
I have a certification from USA in American Taxation , I did it for a CPA reason and i'm sure that Canadian Tax is similar to USA TAX.
All what you are talking about taxes is wrong , you can not calculate Taxes like this , when you fill your income tax at the end of the year you have many exemptions and many things to declare before you pay your tax , maybe at the end you will ask for a cash back from the Government and for sure this is the Certified Accountant Job and not you. sometimes you pay $300 per year for a social foundation to save 1500 from income tax.
in Lebanon we are paying too much taxes , but it's hidden and you don't know about it ...

about UAE ...
in Quebec TVA 15% , in Lebanon TVA 10% , but in UAE TVA is 30% but hidden , I know that in UAE there is no Tax and no customs but prices are going higher year by year.
per example a new collection item from a shop in UAE 4 years ago her price was $40 , in Lebanon $45 , two years ago was at same price as Lebanon, now $40 in Lebanon and $50 in UAE , another example hotels in Dubai or Abu Dhabi , same hotels that you booked from 4 years at 100 per night now at 140...
so I think TVA in UAE is 30% but it's hidden on your bill.

you must be kidding me man! lol
comparing Lebanon to Quebec economy and trying to convince us Lebanon is a better place ? bless you :D

Thank you Adam...

This is what i mean.. plus Lemans if you want to get a house yes you should expect to pay for hydro (800$ and more) that is normal even if you buy a big apartment.

as for the communications.. all services are charged thats why they are called services.
As for schools, yes of course you have very good official schools in lebanon but they are numbered and not in all areas.

in any case, information about is is enlightening and everyone should know about before going but again if you consider that you want to go to canada and live the same way you are living in beirut, dubai etc.. you are wrong well unless you are super duper rich.

it is all about priorities..

100 %!

Even as many are complaining about taxes, is the minimum income in Lebanon the same as in Canada ? I wonder.

And why is immigration so high to Canada if things are better and you can save more here ?

salaries here in the UAE are tax free, Cars are very cheap, fuel is very cheap compared to Canada or Lebanon, yes there are "some" hidden taxes but nothing to be mentioned, you buy a piece of shit car in Lebanon for 7000$ , here it much cheaper adde il tax 3al cars in Lebanon? fuel is very expensive.. electricity is cheap because most of the time you don't see it to consume it :P

So why are you moving to Canada? if you have good job in UAE / GULf you are happy where you are.. why you are moving.. or you are just doing it to get the passport and get back to Gulf??.. Sorry but if that's the case that's low and well opportunistic
