Ok here are my updates. I submitted my PPR today at VAC. It took around an hour of waiting.

I advise you to park in the Concorde building parking it is very practical (3000L.L per hour) since it is in the same building.

Make sure that you take your photos compliant with their Photo specs (This is very important for them). The photo specs are part of the email that you receive.

You will pay $39.57 per passport...

Good luck everyone!

keep the invoice that they gave to you, they will ask about it when you go next time,
I don't suggest you to park in there when you need to collect your passport, it will be too crowded at 3 pm, they will just ask you to keep the car anywhere in the middle of the parking and keep the keys in it for them to move it when people want to pass, and they mention in their ticket , they are not responsible of any stealing in the car!! and they take the keys -__-

that was long wait today, at my time it only took 5-10 min ,
good luck with the rest of the process :)

Canada is very good for single immigrants, its for singles not families.
single can accept job, can eat sandwich, can sleep in metro, can play guitar instead of begging,

for families its too hard if you don't have lot of money,
for example, for family of 4 members will need 4 bus access tickets (4x77$ = 308$) per month.
cell phone calls too expensive I thing average 70$/month, (husband and wife =140$)
furniture 4 mattress (4 x 600$=2400)

Canadian winter jackets, shoes, gloves to resist ice -25 degree, usually contains aluminum material 1000$/person

cooking will cost a lot, since Canada is a cold country , all their fruits and vegetables imported from usa and mexico, like UAE //desert everything is imported.

so prepare well yourself,
don't listen to you relative or friends in Canada, they feel lonely and bored then want you to join them ;)

walla in my case my relatives bidallon yni22o ;D

you need to ask ricoluna who already landed and rented house, how much she spent, I hope she can share expenses.

I believe you need 4000$/ month, youll get 900$ for kids, so you must you and your wife salary 6000$ x 50% taxes over all = 3000$ will remain.

hala2 bt2eli quebec return some of taxes , bas you must wait 1 year ;) so you must b ready for 50.000$.

Oh dear, if I ad the 50.000$ I would not leave my country :D

guys, i went to the US with USD 7,000 in my pocket. I did my masters for two years that cost in total USD 100,000 and rented a room for USD 700 per month and enjoyed my life. No one is going to die on the street in North America if you don't have enough money. In this region, we are spoiled with a lot of money and we see that the only way to live. In North America, you don't need money to live - you just live. Freaking out is part of the fact that Canada is becoming a reality for all of you now; dare to realize a dream? This sentence applies to all those who are getting the residencies now. It's like a dream becoming true and this transitioning phase is difficult because you're moving from illusion to reality...

Yalla, be brave.

I guess everyone is right here with different figure.
Dr tarek is right but 500usd for renting a studio is hard to find even!
Majority starting 750usd a month.
Any person who is immigrating, for sure he or she has to take into consideration to take with him/her minimum of 20,000 usd otherwise they might fail to resist while being abroad, its a big push certainly during hard times and needs.
Life isn't easy especially in my case I have no one over there. Simply traveling alone :)
But I am sure years later especially after becoming officially canadian doors will open for everyone :)

First Income tax is 16% if you are getting less than 42 000$/year + EI + CPP you arrive to 31-32%

of course it is better that you save as much as you can before you go because you will have a cushion phase especially for jobs that might take 6 months to 8 months (all depends on how you search for jobs and your skills). but if you guys think that you want to keep your standard of living as per Dubai, Beirut etc.. you will face not only problems but the cultural shock will be huge.

those are the typical paying , we should expect more expenses and yet surprises :D , but don't forget we are not going in student visas , we are skilled workers so securing the first work will be the first step to build the base in there..
