Canada is very good for single immigrants, its for singles not families.
single can accept job, can eat sandwich, can sleep in metro, can play guitar instead of begging,

for families its too hard if you don't have lot of money,
for example, for family of 4 members will need 4 bus access tickets (4x77$ = 308$) per month.
cell phone calls too expensive I thing average 70$/month, (husband and wife =140$)
furniture 4 mattress (4 x 600$=2400)

Canadian winter jackets, shoes, gloves to resist ice -25 degree, usually contains aluminum material 1000$/person

cooking will cost a lot, since Canada is a cold country , all their fruits and vegetables imported from usa and mexico, like UAE //desert everything is imported.

so prepare well yourself,
don't listen to you relative or friends in Canada, they feel lonely and bored then want you to join them ;)

Leman is right, if u r a single,u can live anywhere,eat anything,u will not care about the time to get a job,u can manage urself easily,u can pass one or 2 years in order to get a job,but if u r a family,of course u should prepare urself ,u have to take with u a lot of money to manage urself and ur family at the first time coz u r not alone,i dont talk that canada is not a nice country,of course it is but if u immigrate as a family,u have to prepare urself well,not just hear to friends and relatives.i am agreed with leman

can you please advice us how much we need to start up,and if we dont find a job for the first six months what the governemnt will offer us?

you need to ask ricoluna who already landed and rented house, how much she spent, I hope she can share expenses.

I believe you need 4000$/ month, youll get 900$ for kids, so you must you and your wife salary 6000$ x 50% taxes over all = 3000$ will remain.

hala2 bt2eli quebec return some of taxes , bas you must wait 1 year ;) so you must b ready for 50.000$.

i am a single man,for me i consider that i will spend about 20000 - 25000 $ for one year,i dont care about what gouvernemnt offers me,so if u r a family ,u can ask families who landed there and how much money they spent there at first time ,but for me i prepare myself for this amount of money

Ok here are my updates. I submitted my PPR today at VAC. It took around an hour of waiting.

I advise you to park in the Concorde building parking it is very practical (3000L.L per hour) since it is in the same building.

Make sure that you take your photos compliant with their Photo specs (This is very important for them). The photo specs are part of the email that you receive.

You will pay $39.57 per passport...
