No idea...

Inshallah they will reply.

What exactly did u ask them ?

Dear Sirs,

We are afraid for the question, it is almost eight month passed since our file has been updated and our Medical has been received. We still have shown on E-cas (Application Received), does it mean that we still need to wait for long time to have in process or it is normal and means that our file is in process.

I look forward to hearing from you soon,

Yours faithfully and happy Easter

I guess Scotia bank is ok for a start but you might want to switch to a different bank before they start charging you a fee for using your own money.

I learned the details about banking in Canada the hard way. Paid more than 100$ in fees before finally switching to a bank with no fee what so ever.

I recommend you visit the websites of the following banks

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)
TD Canada trust

HSBC (one of the best for immigrants...check out their passport account)
http://www.hsbc.ca/1/2/en/personal/chequing-savings/hsbc-passport

Scotia Bank (you have already checked this one)
CIBC
National Bank
Bank of Montreal (BMO)

On comparing the checking account types, you will find out that some banks charge a monthly fee for your checking account + an additional 60 cents if you exceed the limit of free transactions. You probably want to avoid this.

Some banks offer unlimited transactions if you have a certain balance e.g 2000$ or 3000$ and also have your monthly fee waived off. You might probably want to select one of these banks.

Once again...nothing wrong with Scotia bank...if you do open an account, ensure you switch it before then end of 1 yr.

By the way HSBC and TD are the only 2 banks that offer credit cards to immigrants who definitely do not have a credit history in Canada. If having a basic credit card is important you might want to consider these banks. Else the rest of the banks will provide you with a secured credit card.

If anybody needs any info on banking in canda pls feel free to ask...i'd be more than happy to find out if I dont know the answer.

thank u Tarekk , i sent them on this e-mail: re-bucharest-immigration@international.gc.ca
I don't know other e-mail , they always sent me from this one

I have sent an email on the 4th of April, asking about the status of my file and that it has been almost 24 months since it was received.
I got today a reply.

Dear Sir,

Please be advised that this file was transferred to us from the Visa Office in Beirut and therefore our published processing time does not apply to those cases which were in the inventory of the Beirut office awaiting processing.

Please be advised that the file is passing through the required assessment process. You will be informed when we are ready to pass to the next stage of processing or if more information is requested.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation

This is not good news. But anyways why did they transfer our files there if it was not for faster processing. Also how come almost everybody on this forum who their PPR got it in 8 months or less from Medicals date !!!

Hi cherif2100! As far as I know, medical results are only valid for 1 year from the date you undergo medical exam. In your case, the validity is only until October 7, 2014. You should land in Canada before that date or else you will undergo medical exam again. :)

yea I see, but I mean the valid date is different than the medical date , unless they received my medicals that late on that date..
thanks for clarification anyway :)

thank you guys, I almost lost hope to get the PPR any soon, but it came from no where :) keep faith! it can be any day , I know this process is not fair because it doesn't keep the progress in order of dates.. but at the end all of us will have the chance to live in Canada :)
