good morning dignity,
how many days after the landing u will get your PR?
Regards

you will get your social insurance number after 2 weeks.
your permanents residency card after less than 8 weeks
and your medical card after more than 3 months ....

It's so hard to find a job in montreal from november to april. it seems like everything is shut up.

hello,
Saade glad you having a great time over there , it is better to get stuck at home because of the snow than rather bombings or street wars, personally i prefer snowy weather than sticky goo one,

thank you Raffaela, you too i hope soon.

Dignity, happy for you and dont look back, I do have questions however about landing, is there an online guide which i could read about that would include details such as:

- shipping personal belongings (cost , cataloging, receipt for all items must have? , checkup proceedure etc..) also rumor about 1 time only shipping refund?
- airport immigration officer: procedure, checks , Q&A , etc...
- when is it it legally allowed to start working after landing (hold duration)

I am sure there are many additional points too to be mentioned.

cheers,

lemans ... give me the good news .... did you get your medicals yet? I'm counting on your file as there's like a 6 months difference between you and me..!

cheers,

I haven't been to Lebanon for more than a year and I'm not planning to go unless I get the visa. No matter how cold it gets here, I still love it, I just feel sorry for my car. It's consuming lots of gas in such weather, plus the gas prices keep getting high.

From what I know is that you can ship anything you want once you land without paying taxes. After that you're gonna have to pay. You should fill out the form and keep receipts. Seiled stuff are the easiest to pass through customs.

As to working, you can start once you get your SIN. Of course you should have your equivalency in case you decide to work in your field of study.

It's not easy to find jobs in Montreal since it's the business center in Quebec. I've been there so many times, the city is overcrowded, mostly with Chinese people and students. It's easier to find around it or if someone decides to work in dt Ottawa or kanata.

The IT field is the one booming right now with lots of job openings. Sales field is guaranteed if you know a bit about the Canadian market.

Let's hope we hear some good news soon. We haven't heard from Moon lately, I hope she's doing fine.

Stay safe and away from dangerous areas.

nothing at all, but the good think in our visa office that once meds r done visa comes quickly, i know many got it total process time 11 months.

but there was strike... maybe there are backlogs now... anyways yours might take bit longer because you been many places or might take less time than me coz of strike.

anyways i am enjoying warm weather now :D

CC and CS thank you so much for your helpful replies and i hope you both are doing great.
