my sis called the mp and he confirmed that we are e late because of the strike bcz all the immigration wadnt work in our files! Therefore it's just a matter of time :-X! And he think that we will got something soon

I think this MP just said what they wanted to hear...or maybe he's not aware of what's going on. Not once did my MP's office tell me the strike has affected the file.

how do u explain the strike alert that was showed on the official site for canadian embassy in romania!
I dont want to hear what i want i just searching for an answer!!

You understood me wrong, I didn't mean you. I meant sometimes the MP's will say things to make their clients feel better, in this case saying the strike is what delayed the files. The truth is Syria delayed the file. Romania visa office was not affected by the strike. It showed on the page, because it was posted everywhere on the CIC website.

I think the MP is right that the visa will come soon though.

i agree with you canadian citizen,romania wasnt been affected by the strike.and it was from beginning intended to have this time interval of 6-8 month after medical step..

Romania wasnt affected by the strike on files until they requested the medicals, but after that most of the process becomes outside romania mainly in canada and Uk for medicals analysis and security check..
Its good the strike was done now but we have to consider the backlogs of files that stacked up during that strike..

You can ask but don't think about exchanging when you get there cause it's sooo expensive. Go to any place in beirut.
In case you or ur relatives have a bank account there you can deposit USD and euros, RBC gives you a good rate.
Take pictures of the CN tower and Rogers Centre(hopefully the rooftop is open) while you're landing cause they look amazing from the plane.
Have a safe trip and don't be surprised cause you'll feel like ur in china, that's Toronto

I think it's cheaper to bring US money and convert it into CAD in Canada rather than Beirut.

I tried exchanging at Ottawa's airport but the rate was kind of high. I went to rbc and they said they can convert usd to cad and deposit the money in my account

That's what I mean, banks have better rates...or those independent money converter places, usually have a better rate than banks.
