I know someone 2008 applicant his file was cancelled /federal/ he done medical.
in embassy they told him files might be cancel until u get visa you can consider your accepted

If you see it from another perspective, here's how it looks like. When most of us applied, we were supposed to wait for a period of 18 months maximum. Among all the visa offices in the world, the crisis had to occur in Syria. The embassy keeps generating an email apologizing for this unexpected incident and sending it to all of us whenever we try to contact them. However this is not our problem and they know it. Instead of transferring the files to professional offices worldwide they had to transfer them to one of the least professional offices in Beirut.
To be brief, we've been almost waiting for 3 years and some of us even more. Do you think that after such facts, they will come and tell you that your application has been refused? Or even bring up some more complications? We've all made it that far and whoever was patient is for sure serious about going to Canada... Whoever's had enough of waiting, it's easy, they're giving him/her the choice to withdraw the application and leave a turn for other people who are so willing to live in Canada

someone here sent request to withdraw, they replied you cant withdraw, wait for decision.

you can withdraw i'm sure, even if you have to wait for a decision, it will positive but you won't get a refund

if everything is on the right track with no delays it should take 10-12 weeks for the ppr. It's only an estimation of course because after the incident in Syria, no number can be considered as accurate. The embassy is open and working this week, they won't close for any holiday except May 20 for Victoria Day. Keep checking your email and hopefully you'll be receiving good news for breakfast or lunch, or maybe for brunch ;)

ha ha ha. I keep checking my mail chi 1000 times a day !
Happy labor day to everyone

I agree with you...however I would like to add that once you receive the visa...you also have to satisfy the Border agent at the airport. He has the right to send you back on a plane even after you have your visa. I don't know if this has actually happened before...but all the publications about sthe process states this fact. So until you land...any thing could happen.
