Because in July they are opening the immigration process again. It was supposed to be in May but was pushed back. So no new applicants until July. So because of the backlog they put the immigration process on hold to get through the backlog.

Thank you, it makes sense to try to push things forward before accepting new applications... This time there are good signs, and transferring our files to another country is a big plus (Lebanon office). If anything happens in Lebanon(god forbid) our processing time won't be impacted all over again...

Yes and with the new process they have in place, you won't wait as long as we have (3 years and counting for the federal part). Goodluck!

btw unlike 2009-2010 applicants the current files takes more than 2-3 years to get their CSQ and then more than 3 years to get the visa.. i am sure if ppl knew their files would take more than 7 years so many would apply for another country and im one of them, i would already be in australia building my life..

Currently yes, the process is slow, but they are working on making if faster...so people who applied in 20011 and 2012 won't have to wait as long as we did. Plus, the reason applicants from 2009-2010 waited so long is due to the situation in Syria...before then the processing time was 17 months for federal. So once this backlog is dealt with (i.e. rerouting to other visa offices) things will move much quicker than it did before the war in Syria.

congratulation moon and canadian citizen,so it really appear the things are going much better now on..congratulation again...

We should all be patient... I am positive that as of May everyone will start receiving updates, whether the files stay in Beirut or get transferred. The embassy is not willing to do the same mistake with the backlog, they have till the end of July to finalize as much as they can. we'll see how things will be as of tomorrow

Hello, dear you file progress is very similar to mine
I got my CSQ in sep 2010, Federal process started on nov 1 2010, transferred my file to beirut on feb 22, until now 30 full months, hope will get good news soon, it will feel really good :), but regarding the updated papers be careful for the 3 months validity so wont have to do them again, but what makes u sure that u will be contacted soon, i saw someone had his csq in april and in 3 years they re having the medical, please elaborate ur logic

Btw do u reside in ksa, where ? Jeddah ?

20000% they are delaying the process, coz no jobs there,

I am sure if there is lack of vacancies they wont plan to relaunch the fsw again they will just declare it, they did what is more franc than this, they canceled all the files b4 2008, these people just declare facts, no need to hide that last year 250,000 people entered canada w need more. :)
But the file processing is a hell of a process and no enough staff and a major blow by the closure of damascus office !!! ;)

Your process is similar to mine.
I'm a Riyadh resident :)

Hey guys
I have some questions...

Is there any chance for refusal after medical? And how long it will take as average after medical ?

If refusal, is there any chance for appeal ?? And how ??

I have never heard that someone got rejected after doing his/her medical exam unless there is a problem in the exam itself. By releasing the medical exams to the applicant it means that his/her documents are complete but bare in mind that after sending the medical exams there are other documents submitted at the same time, including the family list, military card, police certificate, in ADDITION to the updated applications mentioned by Canadian_citizen where you have to fill out the same information you used when you first applied, of course with dew more additions for the past few years. if everything is complete then rest assure that there won't be a refusal. This stage occurs before releasing the medical exams...

thx a lot dear csaade
that's very kind from your side to reply. You're a life saver
hopefully, everything will be doing good at the and we will be hearing a very good news very soon..
What about the time processing after medical to get the ppr?? Is that 3~4 months

if everything is on the right track with no delays it should take 10-12 weeks for the ppr. It's only an estimation of course because after the incident in Syria, no number can be considered as accurate. The embassy is open and working this week, they won't close for any holiday except May 20 for Victoria Day. Keep checking your email and hopefully you'll be receiving good news for breakfast or lunch, or maybe for brunch ;)
