I think you're right about the 36 months, the visa officer told my mp that the 36 months we see on the website does not reflect the real situation.....I guess if they put the real number we would all fall off our chairs lol. Anyway I think caasde is right as well. They do realize that something needs to be done about the backlog and they are doing something about it by sending files to Romania. Even with the medical in hand, no one knows how long it will take for Romania to process, even though the letter said no more delays.dignity3 said:wish they would transfer all the files to Romania, trust me the average of processing time at Beirut vo is far away more than 36 months ... We would be lucky if our files would be transferred.
There are lack of staff and well experienced officers at Beirut vo. When Damascus closed, Beirut wasn't ready at all for processing QSW applicants.
I wonder why they didn't transfer our files to Romania since the first time of Damascus closing date.

well, out of the 6.5M there are 3M lebanese, 1M waiting for prr, 0.5M palestinians and 2M syrians ;Dcsaade said:Well the current population count in Lebanon is 6.5 million(4.5M Lebanese and 2M Syrians)
Hi the target of Beirut office is 370 persons which means applicants with their families regardless of how many applicants . But if we return to the inventory of Beirut visa office pr as of 4-10-2012 we will see that the total is 1476 persons not millions or thousands as every body think. Total applicants is 668 not so much as number but huge for small office like Beirut with few stuff with no experience .So this means around 4 years to finish the backlog if they give 370 pr each year.cherif2100 said:370 persons means less than 300 files.. that is not much while there are thousands stacked files in the embassy, i have 2 friends who have been in the federal phase and they already signed job offres in montreal one still waiting since 2010 and the other since mid 2012! if priority files are treated like that so how about the other files!
so, it's 4 years without the new applications... So , I think the backlog will never end without a help from another visa office in the region.mft25 said:Hi the target of Beirut office is 370 persons which means applicants with their families regardless of how many applicants . yeah that's why ill not live in Laval or saint Laurent ;Dcsaade said:Oh trust me, Lebanese ppl are getting more visas to QC than to other federal provinces... I've seen it in Laval, more than 80% are Lebanese, so if a Canadian passes in the area he is considered as an intruder... lol
too bad that the Lebanese community lack solidarity. Everyone envy the other. We should be solid at least like other communities to preserve our rights and work as a group.lemans207 said:yeah that's why ill not live in Laval or saint Laurent ;D
