Guys very BAD news for pre 2008 applicants

The Government of Canada announced on 29 March 2012 a plan to reduce the backlog of Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applications by returning all applications and government fees submitted prior to 27 February 2008. This will amount to a total of almost 300,000 returned applications, as well as approximately $130 million in refunded government processing fees.
Approximately 160,000 FSW applications, submitted after 28 February 2008, will remain in queue for processing

it's really so hard to wait a many years to finally get a news like this!!

Can you provide us with the source of this information please? I checked the cic website nothing is mentioned....

That is sad, more than 4 years of waiting and expenses to see their goal of landing in Canada vanish :(.

I Hope it won't affect us too, no1 knows, the immigration system is changing fast, first Quebec and now the FSW....

hi, Moon you freaked me out this morning, as m sipping on my coffee and slowly waking up, could you pls just give me the bottom line detail, is this affecting us in any way ? thanks

Hi Lmastory
really i dont know any details! just i was reading in the moring as i was addicted to read about canada immigration hehehe
so i found this news!!
i think this procedure will not affect us because we are already a QSW! and quebec right now reduce the new immigrants for 2013 So this desicion if will exist, will definitly it must be decided from Quebec!
let's pray to not be affected by any new canadian rules!!

I do hope so but then again after the QSW we did apply for FSW, what i am afraid of is that pre-2008 is just the start before they get to pre-2010, this is driving me crazy that i am seriously going to try my luck with David Cohan , owner of this site, 30 mins by phone = 100$

I still dont understand how dec/Jan/Feb/March 2010 applicants got skipped.

here is the one for QSW : http://www.cicnews.com/2012/03/quebec-immigration-summary-031444.html

alright fellows, CSQ or no CSQ, i am seriously started to worry because it seems that they can eliminate us at any time just like that !

Damn! This is terrible!

If I'm not mistaken though, this only applies to the Federal Skilled Worker program and not the Quebec Skilled Worker program. Right?
