I believe that the visa office in beirut will reply clearly to your message if you sent it after 36 months processing of you application after the federal number.
if Csq expired, it's not a problem . they will give you documents needed when you gonna land in Canada.
to be honest, it seems like the time processing of the applications for Sw is over 36 months. as many applicants has exceeded the normal processing time for sw in leb and still till present have not heard any thing valuable yet

I recently got an update from my MP. The Visa Officer in Beirut, told my MP that the 36 months we see on the CIC website does not reflect real times. He told her it depends on each officer and how much files they have and how fast they can study and finish a file. He also told her that the officers in Beirut were not training in processing these types of files, and they had to be trained, hence the delay. But I guess we all knew that. He did mention that things are moving once again! I was told my fiance's file will be "finalized" in August. This is the second time we are told that, so hopefully it's true! We just don't know if it means the medical in August or the visa...any ideas?

Yes but you have to remember, we are only a very small portion of people who applied from Lebanon. There are people out there who are getting medicals who are not in this forum. I'm sure you will hear something soon!

Regarding the medical exam, do they send it by mail or email? It is not guaranteed that the mail will arrive to the mailing address, especially in Lebanon... Moreover, I don't even reside in Lebanon...

They are doing everything by email.

it's well known that sponsorship application is far away faster than sw .. the spouse immigration applications are finalized in less than 1 year. therefore, you should have applied for spouse/ partner instead of sw.

Thanks dignity. I guess you're already in Quebec. I got married like 6 months ago and it's no use applying for sponsorship, they'll close the SW file and open a new one. It's not worth it...

Sponsorship are actually taking longer than a year for Beirut...so waiting for your medical might be faster. They told me August for finalizing the file...so I think it means the visa with the medicals in May. What's your timeline so we can have a better perspective since your MP said you should hear something in April.

It's a Parlement Member, have the right to ask about the immigration file in the embassy!

My timeline should be also around August. All I heard from my MP is the same old same old regarding the closure of the embassy and other stuff that the embassy always generates in their email, "same email to everyone". So as to their updates, the file will be in front of the VO in april, give it 15 days to issue the medical exams, so I guess after 3 months we'll be getting to the beginning of August. However I am still not convinced until I see something in hands... Additional supporting files no matter what they are won't be much of a help, they have backlogs and a big lack of resources at the embassy, so disappointing indeed...

hi dkeyrouz, when did you receive your AOR? in fact, when did they start processing your application as stated on the e-cas?
