Renting in Laval or Gatineau is a good start, at least until you get your pr card and start working. The bank won't discuss the mortgage with you till after 3 months from working. Plus you need to have a good credit history

I wonder how newcomers rent an appartment with no job or credit history. WHat if they don't know anyone in Canada to help them out? What would they do then?

Have any of you heard of the new charter of values Quebec is hoping to implement? Quebec wants all public workers (doctors, nurses, engineers, police, firefighters etc) to not wear any religious symbols (hijabs, turbans, big crosses).

If it goes through, I think a lot of people are planning to move out of QUebec.

Nope nothing yet! The MP is able to get us another update on Oct. 12 if we don't hear anything until then. I have a feeling November will be our month!

Do you think visas quota is full for 2013? I think starting january 2014 all will get visas.
coz even in abu dhabi visa office applicant who did medical on May didnt get visa yet

Oh yeah, I read about it in Ottawa sun.
French quebecers are with this law and the English are against it. It will be implemented in schools and universities and day care too. Small things are allowed: small cross or crescent.
Ontario has put an ad saying: we don't care what you wear....

-some will show it to you racist and they dont care
