Does validating the two forms application to undertake and generic application provide cic information like the current date you validated and/or ip addresses? I'm just asking because I'm curious to know.

It does two things. 1) it checks that the form contents are consistent and 2) it allows them to quickly scan in your basic application details. This is why you should never alter those forms by hand after the barcodes have been generated.

Specifically, no. You can validate your forms while not connected to the internet, so no IP. Likewise, the encoding only copies the cell values into a string for easy database input, no date.

If you are interested, you can see what is there exactly at http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx
